Question about AV
Question about AV
So, according to the Select Training page:
"When AV increases for an offensive player, it increases his chances for a big play. One big play could swing a game, so it's a valuable asset to boost, although it is a hit-or-miss type of gamble"
So if I understand this correctly, AV serves as a modifier of sorts, kinda like On Fire (or the WAR rating, for leagues that use that instead) affects big plays in the baseball side of things
My question is, does AV affect Kick Return and Punt Return stats?
More specifically, if I had a guy with about 15 yards per punt return but 0 AV but also a guy with 13 yards per punt return but a 15 AV (let's say he was a starting WR or RB, or a starting defensive player, and thats why he has a high AV), and their flat return stats (actual number of punt returns, PR yards, and PR TDs) were close enough to each other's that both are viable, if the flat numbers make any difference otherwise, which one would be the better option?

Re: Question about AV
Another thing I would like to know is why are there such abnormally high kr/pr totals ? just finished a reg season where a guy had 2000 plus pr yards and 11 td which is not realistic imho . By the way , I went 20-2 so this isn't sour grapes because I've been benefitting in every league by drafting 0 av guys with few returns and 30 plus avg's . Robert Bailey of the Rams had a real season with 1 pr for 103 yrds !! What's even more amazing is that this was his only pr for his career !! You would think he earned a chance to make a few more . He ended up with 11 for me but I lost my first playoff game when you guessed it , my opponent returned a punt for a td lol .
Re: Re: Question about AV
This is why I would like some sort of stat minimum for eligibility. It seems in the return game this is most important. If not in Auto leagues. which I think it can be done. Then at least for custom leagues in the commish tools.
Re: Question about AV
Also in the one football league I run, it's a budget league but we play particular decades. The defenses in the 70's just rake. There weren't a lot of pass attempts so the yds per game was lower as were points per game. It just doesn't match up to the modern game.
It helps as a budget league you draft individual defensive players and not a team D.

Re: Re: Question about AV
skooler, yes AV is a part of returns... AV does *not* create TD returns, but it can add yardage to a return. As for the other feedback, I'll make some further adjustments to low-stat KR/PR returns - there are already some throttles in there, but I can refine it.
