I don't think anyone said the commish was granted the ring. I know this commish. He is a straight shooter. He was commish of a bunch of leagues paying for each one. He messaged everyone he wasn't renewing a vast majority of them so when their seasons concluded he wasn't going to start a new season. He also said if someone wanted to take the league or leagues over and pay to extend them at the appropriate time they could.
