Re: Rucy , jou got some splainin to
Looking at it in slow motion and running the replay back and forth, the play was called correctly on the field as described by AtsanBPinetti. This is consistent with how the NFL has called catches and other interceptions.
Re: Re: Rucy , jou got some splainin to
Totally disagree, and I am not a Bills fan (Raiders, don't get me started). Watch the replay again and ask yourself, did the impact with the ground cause the ball to come loose, or did the defender strip him of the ball after the impact with the ground. IMO, he clearly survives the impact with the ground and has control of the ball when it is then stripped from him by the defender. Since he survives the impact with the ground, it qualifies as a catch.
Re: Rucy , jou got some splainin to
What I see is yes he has the ball when he "Touches" the ground. As he starts to roll he starts to lose it to the defender before he is completely on the ground. His back in this instance. He did not "survive the ground" and thus complete the catch. trust me I was rooting for the Bills so no skin in this one The defender did not pull the ball out after he came to rest on the ground from what I saw. It was a fluid process in my opinion.
Re: Rucy , jou got some splainin to do
This one is always controversial because our eyes tell us one thing, but the letter of the rule tells us another.
