Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

Just wondering why Babe Ruth isnt represented as a hitter in the deadball era....it is a question I have had for years but never asked.

Re: Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

He'd be way too overpowered tbh lol

Edit: I just realized I am woefully mistaken. His 1919 season would be his last eligible season in deadball leagues so he wouldn't be nearly as OP as I was thinking. He'd be more in line with a few other hitters with HR totals in the 20s during that era. Thus, I retract my above statement lol

Re: Re: Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

Right 1919 is his only decent offensive Deadball season so that’s why he’s a pitcher. It’s probably worth giving him the Ohtani treatment and splitting his hitting and pitching. The use cases are more rare for him but deadball and fav teams would be the most likely.

Re: Re: Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

His 29 homers were more than 11 other teams !!

Re: Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

Kind of like McGwire in 2000? Personally he marked transformation away from the Deadball era so I think he should be there.

Re: Babe Ruth Batting Deadball Era

Yes bubbles, he did have a lot of HRs by deadball era standards, but after thinking about my original stance more, I firmly believe theres actually already a current deadball era player who Ruth's compiled stats would end up being extremely similar to (and who already dominates those leagues anyway)

That player is Bill Joyce

Anytime i have Jack Clement on my team he's always good for 20 plus homers - 120 plus rbi .

Gavy Cravath - put him on Slump Buster then stand back !!
