slump buster record??
slump buster record??
somehow after 69 games i have a team with 9 players eligible for slump buster!! 3 starters and my top set up man makes it tough to get good pitching lol!! 3 batters under 180!! yikes, the bench is awful as well, hoping everyone gets hot soon
Re: Re: slump buster record??
@gbacci , auto league 1105 best of 2010's maine blackbears. , not a complaint, just find it funny. i have never seen that many guys eligible at the same time. another starter missed being eligible by less than .10!! just waiting for the law of averages to catch up
Re: slump buster record??
I have similar problem in 1963 Auto League. 5 batters eligible for SB after 58 games. Ace starter Horlen 2-5 4.81 ERA. Was in mid 6's for awhile. Thought this could be my best team ever at start.
Have to wait for law of large numbers to work it's magic.🤷♂️

Re: Re: slump buster record??
@OldSparky i hope it works out better for you, 107 games in and still have 7 batters and 5 pitchers still eligible!! just can't get anyone going. 5 regulars below .206!! bench has been even worse!! sadly this team is toast. good luck
Re: slump buster record??
I have a team right now that has 10, yes TEN, batters in SB after 93 games.
Re: Re: slump buster record??
@jimgriddy thats crazy!! 12 of my 14 offensive players are .224 or below!! one bench guy is 0-20!! 1 guy over .300, another at .260, never had a team this pathetic offensively. i don't even want to discuss the pitching staff!!
Re: slump buster record??
These 2025 leagues are going to see a lot of eligible players - guys in 2025 don't hit for average even in regular competition!
Re: Re: slump buster record??
@gbacci i guess my thoughts are that everyone should not be 30-40 points below what they have averaged over the previous 10 seasons. Also these averages are 60-70 below the actual numbers, when i draft i do look at the 10 year average and expect them to be somewhere around those levels, sadly this team has grossly underperformed everywhere. then the pitching should actually be a little better unless you drafted every one that grossly underperforms.
Re: slump buster record??
@rlapierre yeah funny (or not-so-funny) thing about that 2010s league, the overall league numbers are fine - in fact league ERA is 4.75 which is even on the high side for a "greats" auto league. But your team has worst BA in the league, and even the guys who should do well, outside of Harper, not doing well. That just seems like a particularly bad luck season. And your pitching lacks the elite guys outside of Walker and Felix to make up for it. It's a solid staff with 70+ ranks but that kind of staff needs the lineup to produce. All that and you're still only 6 out of the wild card!
Re: slump buster record??
Could it be we've been the benefactors of
Some extraordinary good luck with prior teams and now Law.of Large numbers is extracting its price? I sure hope not!

Re: Re: slump buster record??
@gbacci actually 11 back, i am black bears, red bears are 6 back. outside of harper and ramirez everyone having down years, it happens!! sadly i have josh hader in multiple leagues, he is not very good for a 90rank reliever, live and learn!! just hopng for a hot streak
Re: slump buster record??
Yep that team is underperforming, but underperforming that much ? This is more than being unlucky.
Especialy with Harper and Hoskins, that team should not be looking back.
Great rotation, Strasburg not being in it shoudl not be. Bullpen is also above average.
Maybe a bit lacking of OBP potential player and a 2nd hitter that doesn,t get on base enough doesn't optimize Hoskins slugging capacity.
The Team would benifit way more by having Kemp hitting in the 2nd spot, especially being slump busted.
Curiously, you are 3rd in the league in HR. Usually should translate to success.

Re: Re: slump buster record??
@plpl512 i did have kemp at 2 for quite a while but he was hitting below .200 for so long as well as everyone else!! i just threw garver up there to try and shake it up!! he was hitting below .150 and has picked it up a little!! lol. sadly most of my homers seem to be solo
Re: slump buster record??
@plpl512 unfortunately strasburg has been awful, just put him in the bullpen, it was either him or bumgartner, tough choice, both awful!!
Re: Re: slump buster record??
at least my flawed team will finish at .500, late season surge but ultimately pitching was awful!! only 3 guys below 4 era, not sure i ever had a staff this bad!! on the bright side over 205 of our hits were homers!! individual numbers except batting average look impressive. maybe next year?? sadly it was my first keeper league and i made poor signings of unproductive players except harper. locked myself in for next year and will miss out on a couple guys i would much rather have. live and learn i guess.
Re: Re: slump buster record??
@jimgriddy 3 individuals, team 4.76. actually improved last quarter of the season. was over 5 most of the season. usually at least a couple starters are decent.
