Football Question
Has anyone seen a big difference when using a 4-3 defense vs a 3-4 D ? Any advantages of disadvantages?
Re: Football Question
I dont think theres any innate advantages for either other than what position gets an extra spot on the field. Do you want an extra Linebacker or an extra Defensive Tackle. That's really all it is as far as I can tell
Re: Re: Football Question
I haven't noticed a difference, but I honestly haven't done any deep analysis. I let my personnel dictate it. But, because DT can also play DE, DE can also play DT or LB, and LB can also play DE, all without degradation in performance or stats, I can almost always play either. So, if the personnel can accommodate either formation, I look at the stats of my players and put them where it makes the most sense from a real NFL perspective - have a DT or LB that has a ton of sacks? I usually slot them at DE where most sacks tend to come from. Have a DE with a ton of tackles and few sacks? Drop him at DT to eat up the middle. Those kinds of things. Does any of it matter? I'm really not sure!

@AtsanBPinetti - I just wanted to say it's been an honor to play against you in Football Auto-Leagues. I feel like I've meet you (and usually lost) in the Super Bowl several times recently. Your dang Kapa'a Sea Turtles always seem to knock me out haha
Re: Re: Football Question
Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated. The Sea Turtles beat everybody in auto!
Re: Football Question
Haha. Thanks guys! Appreciate the kind words! And always glad to meet you both in the playoffs (and hopefully win! 😜)
Re: Football Question
4-3 feels the best because it feels difficult to get great LB compiled stats and I’d rather use a DE at DT than LB for the majority of what their real stats are
The stat that seems to do the best at LB is TFL (I’ve had many LB’s with similar QBhits/TFL real stats and it compiles as 2x TFL over hits)
On a side note: special teams is insanely important -ex: finding a guy that returns kicks 35-40+ yards is something that needs to be a regular part of how you craft a team
