Wallercrawler

Wallercrawler

Hi all. A user reached out to me and I wanted to share that he found what appears to be the obituary of longtime PC community member Wallercrawler74.

I didn’t have many interactions with Dale but the times he did reach out he was just a fantastic person. I’m crushed to hear of this news. I know many of you had significant online friendships with him.

I’ll share the link here for those interested.

Re: Wallercrawler

Wow. He was a long time owner in MLB the show . While I can’t say we ever talked in depth, he was a good, dedicated owner , and was always solid in our discussion . Little did I know, he was only about 40 minutes away, if that .

Life is short, cherish those you love

Re: Re: Wallercrawler

Have had him in several leagues, including ones I commish. He was a great owner, seemed to enjoy PC, never threw out negativity or complaints. Love to see he wants all to put their Cardinals gear on for his visitation.

Re: Wallercrawler

That's really sad to hear. I knew he was battling health problems recently and was worried about the worst when I saw he hadn't logged on since early January. He was one of the first people I met on here and I was in multiple leagues he ran previously, and he was in mine (still). Truly a good guy, glad to have known him for the past 10 plus years.

Re: Re: Wallercrawler

He was a longtime member of a lot of leagues I was involved in and was just a really solid owner and person. Very sad to hear about it.

Re: Wallercrawler

Never crossed paths with him that I recall, but I'm sure it's possible, from the kind words from other owners he sounds like he was a nice guy, God Speed

Re: Re: Wallercrawler

51 is way too young. Brutal. Based on the obit it seems like a lot of folks are gonna miss him. Our tiny little corner of the internet was lucky to have such a swell fella for as long as we did.

Re: Re: Wallercrawler

Thanks for sharing his obit, and sharing a PC nod to a great PC guy with a great, alliterative PC name. I knew Dale from being in yankee's league with him for years. Waller kept building the Royals to compete, season after season, steady and low-key. He was one of my favorites to root for. Very sad to hear this news.

You have another clan here, Waller, who will miss your presence.

Re: Wallercrawler

Never knew him, but through the magic of words written he must have been good person. I’m grateful for the words for now I know a ‘giant among us’ in our peculiar Pennant Chase world. Hopefully will meet in pennantchasesky.com and play a few games head on. Thanks everybody

Re: Wallercrawler

Really hate to hear this. Wallercrawler ran the first league I ever played in on PC. Had to be 15 years ago.
When I started my first league as commissioner he was really helpful with any questions I had, even though it wasn’t his league. He was a great one for PC and a first class guy.

Re: Wallercrawler

Thank you for sharing this. Waller was in a few of the leagues that I run and was always active until late last year. He did give me a heads up that he wasn't doing well at the end of December. This is very sad.

Re: Re: Wallercrawler

I was in a few leagues with him. Never had any interactions with him but knew he was a respected member here. May he rest in peace.

Re: Wallercrawler

Wow! Waller was the first person to really welcome me to Pennant Chase. He answered all of my questions and helped me through that initial phase when your team sucks, but you don't know why. He was the same age as my younger brother, which hits way too close to home. Thank you for sharing the obituary! It was nice to get a peek at what a wonderful family that he had.

Re: Wallercrawler

Dale was an incredible person to discuss baseball with, both RL and PC. We bonded over being huge Cardinal fans and we would both try to get the Cards in our respective leagues. He was a Founding GM in both Loser's Loser league and the ever famous GBF league.. A very dedicated owner, but never too insecure to share his secrets in what worked and did not work for his teams. Im sure this is a huge loss for his family and friends, as he was instrumental in the success and longevity of many GM's throughout PennantChase. I will wear Cardinal gear on your day moving forward. RIP Dale
