Wow...

Wow...

Was looking at the 2026 standings on baseball reference to see who I might be able to take advantage of for budget drafts when the 2026 season ends and the stats get added to the database... And what I found made my jaw DROP

If he can keep this pace up through the rest of the season I think another brewers build might be in the works for me this fall 😂

Re: Wow...

That is a wow. I don't know what his price will be but that should be an automatic win. 32 starts. How many QS and wins do you think he will have?

Re: Re: Wow...

It depends on how he wraps up the season. There's still time for a couple horrifically bad starts that could wipe much of his value away

Re: Wow...

The Brewers have been slow walking him as he's already over his career high in IP (minors/majors). He may start every 6 and go 5, maybe 6 a start. The Brewers want to make sure he's good to go for the playoffs. Every time I see him pitch, I wonder when his arm is going to fall off.

Re: Wow...

Make sure he is set to shut down the evil empire Dodgers is what sheik meant to say…

Re: Wow...

Yeah that's TOTALLY what the most die hard Dodgers fan on the site would say 😜

Re: Re: Wow...

That's 100% correct though - they want him healthy and rested for the Dodgers. And I should add that EVERY SP could have their arm fall off at any time !! When you throw as hard as the Miz does, it's hard to imagine that there won't be an issue somewhere down the line. The only pitcher I saw throw as hard as him for an extended period of time, with no arm issues until the end of his career, was Nolan Ryan - and he was a unicorn.

Re: Wow...

I remember seeing Nolan Ryan pitch back at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. And the thing that stood out to me was how you could hear him grunt throughout the whole stadium on every single pitch.

Re: Re: Wow...

I was at his last game ever against the Mariners . One thing I'll never forget was the sound the ball made when it hit the warmup catchers mitt . It reverberated throughout the Kingdome . Once the game started , he didn't get a single out and after giving up a grand slam his arm finally wore out after 27 seasons . He walked off the mound and tipped his cap and everyone gave him a standing O . It was like something out of an old cowboy movie .

Re: Wow...

I saw his last win just before this game! He resembled a large refrigerator on the mound. The guy had horse legs!

Re: Re: Wow...

I think the Brewers need to get with him and see if he can work out with Miz this offseason . He did the same thing for Randy Johnson and he was unstoppable after that . Give Miz about 40 lbs in his core and he will dominate for years to come . Barring injuries of course but Nolan can teach him that you don't have to throw 103 all the time . Unfortunately when it comes to pitchers , it's a matter of when not if the injury occurs .
