Lead Story - 5/7/2026
Season 29 Player Changes/New Players
Luis Severino will move from the Mets to the A's due to now having more IPs with the A's.
Ryan Weathers - Padres
Angel Chivilli - Clippers
Max Schuemann - A's
Players Changing Teams for Season 29 due to either AB/IP totals in real life or Bomber/Yankee players joining new teams:
Luis Severino goes from Mets to A's
Jameson Taillon goes from Pirates to Cubs
Jonathan Loaisiga goes from Bombers to Clippers
Nathan Eovaldi goes from Red Sox to Rangers
Future Changes (If these guys reach the required ABs/IPs with their current club they'll move after the AYL Season we're in)
Wandy Peralta will go from the Reds to the Padres if he reaches 152 IPs with San Diego
Jordan Montgomery will go from the Cards to the Clippers if he reaches 185 IPs with Arizona
Luke Voit will go from the Padres to the Brewers if he reaches 299 ABs with Milwaukee
Dennis Santana will go from the Rangers to the Pirates if he reaches 99 IPs with Pittsburgh
Gary Sanchez will go from the Twins to the Orioles if he reaches 420 ABs with Baltimore
Lucas Luetge will go from the Mariners to the Red Sox if he reaches 90 IPs with Boston
Gio Urshela will go from the Twins to the A's if he reaches 502 ABs with the Athletics
Chasen Shreve will go from the Mets to the Rangers if he reaches 57 IP with Texas
These additions will also mean that some teams will need to drop another player into Free Agency in the offseason, so that should increase the talent level a bit in next season's draft. Change is good in the AYL. Stay tuned for more as the real-life Yankees continue to make moves. They always do.
Others who haven't yet reached the needed ABs/IPs in a season to qualify:
Miguel Yajure
Chris Gittens
Clayton Beeter
Nick Burdi
If they reach the 70 AB/30 IP plateau in a future season, they'll be added to the league, but not until that real life season has ended and we have access to their stats for that year.

Highlights from ASG28 in Columbus, Ohio
Andrew Miller of the home-town Clippers struck out a pair of AL stars in ASG28

ASG28 (in Columbus, Ohio)
The All Yankee League all stars gathered in the state capital of Ohio, Columbus, named after Christopher Columbus, the great explorer who was trying to sail from Spain to Asia, but ended up stumbling on America. Luckily the borders hadn’t been completely closed yet, or the whole thing might have turned out differently. 😊
Anyway, a couple of famous Columbusites were our gracious hosts for the weekend. Guy Fieri cooked us up some great food, while Simone Biles graciously toured us around the city, showing us the sites. Fieri sang the national anthem before the big game, while Biles threw out the first pitch. She started from second base, did a number of jaw-dropping somersaults and mid-air flips and stuck the landing on the pitcher’s mound. Without hesitating, she fired a strike right into the glove of the Clippers’ own Giancarlo Stanton who was crouched behind home plate – a move that he now regrets as he hadn’t crouched down like that for over a decade and thinks that he may need to spend time on the IL.
The teams took to the field, and the fireworks commenced. The offenses made it look like it was going to be a football score in the early going. In the top of the 1st, the visiting American League stars got on the board first. With one out, “Wild” Rich Hill walked Arod, then gave up a double to Aaron Judge and intentionally walked the Babe to load the bases. He then gave up a Sacrifice Fly to Travis Hafner, walked Clint Frazier to load the bases again, and then walked Jason Giambi to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Hill then tried pitching underhand, and finally threw a strike, getting Josh Donaldson to ground out to end the inning.
In the bottom of the first, the home team jumped all over the A.L. starter Fritz Peterson. Apparently, that’s against the rules. The umpires slowly peeled the NL stars off of poor old Fritz, who only suffered minor injuries, just some cuts and scrapes and a few bruises. Fritz then got Mickey Mantle to fly out, but loaded the bases by surrendering a single to Lou Gehrig and consecutive walks to Stanton and Yogi. After Gary Sheffield struck out, Lance Berkman blasted a Grand Slam into the seats to give the home side a 4-2 lead after 1 inning.
If that scoring pace had continued, the final score would have been 32-18 for the National League. However, the pitchers did end up having something to say about that, giving up only one run and three hits total over the next 7 innings! Quite a turnaround. With the score 4-3 for the N.L. going into top of the 9th, Gary Sanchez led off the inning with a game-tying solo shot off Jim Hardin. Then with two outs, Joe DiMaggio doubled and Joey Gallo blasted a go-ahead two-run shot off Hardin to give the visitors a 6-4 lead. Rick Honeycutt would finish things off in the bottom of the 9th, giving the American League the victory. The four home-town Clippers (LeMahieu, Tulo, Stanton, and Goldschmidt) finished a combined 0-6, although Goldy never got to the plate. The fans still love them though and will continue to show up to cheer them on in the second half.
Gary Sanchez was named the ASG MVP with the game-tying homer in the 9th inning being his only at bat.
The victory was the American League’s third win in a row, but the NL still holds the advantage in the all-time ASG series, 17 wins to 11.
Every team in the league has hosted the All-Star Game once, so we’ll start over. ASG 29 will be held in Oakland, even though they no longer have a team in real life. Similar to the Montreal Expos in the AYL, the A’s will likely stay in Oakland for the foreseeable future, maybe forever.
