SWISH HISTORY OF CHAMPIONS

In the 80’s we had various champions including the inaugural winner The Philadelphia 76ers, a new team won each of the first few years with Lakers and Nuggets being among them until 84’ season The New York Knicks went on a crazy run for the first time winning back to back with only the Cavs managing to Win a Chip through the 1988’ season. When the New Orleans Bucs win their first title in 88 with Denver capturing their 2nd world championship the following year in 89’ but of course those Knickerbockers opened up the 90’s era with their Record 4th world Championship. In the 90’s after NYK we seen the Championship blow through the Windy City in 91’ for The Chicago Bulls first ever World Championship. Followed by the Bucs getting to their 2nd Chip to Tie the Nuggets. In 93’ and 94’ respectively we seen our 2nd ever Back to Back titles by the Bulls. In the back half of the 90’s we seen our fair share of gold with 95’,96’,97’ and 98’ all having first time champions in Phoenix, Seattle, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee. In spectacular fashion those Knicks come back around and win the year 99’ Championship. Checking in for 2000’s we got The Brooklyn Nets bringing home their first ever championship. Next, we had Philly with their 2nd championship in 2001 since the inaugural season in 1981’. The Dominance continues as the Knicks win 02’ and 03’ chips, with the Bulls winning their 4th championship a Decade after they last tasted champagne. The Bad Boy Pistons put a halt to the back to backs winning their first championship in 2005’. The Bulls return to glory in 06’ with the Knicks knocking them off in 07’ only for the bulls to return again for 2008’. Los Angeles Jumps in and gets their championship with the longest gap between chips shattered they won in 82’ the 2nd season ever and now again Purple and Gold in 2009 feels right. 10’-11’ we seen our 3rd team win championships back to back with the Bold Bucs introducing us to basketball in the 2010’s, Snapping their 18 year drought. Boston Celtics seen this and say hold my beer and they go Back to Back winning their first and 2nd championship ever. It was only right that the Bulls say hold my Deep Dish and Not only do they go Back to Back again but for the 3rd time this Decade in the league. Bulls now tie the Knicks as the Most Dominant Franchise. In 2016’ who will be next ? Will it be a new team? Will they go back to back also ? GYSO 2015 All-Star Game

The East defeated the West 107–98 with Anthony Davis of the New York Knicks taking home the Most Valuable Player Award. Davis led the East with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and added 2 blocked shots and steals, respectively. Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls followed up with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and added 2 steals in the win.

DeMarcus Cousins of the Portland Trail Blazers led the West with 14 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 assists. James Harden of the Kansas City Kings contributed 14 points, 5 assists, 2 blocked shots, and added 2 steals in the loss.
