League Rules
1) 12 teams. The Yankees will not be available. We start with 1933 rosters and have a classic progression. So players get 1 year older as usual each progression. Difference is, we will go back in time. Imports the next seasons will be 1932, 1931, 1930, etc. Players can get younger though, as described in the stat change section below.2) The available teams are the following: NL- Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Phillies, Pirates, Reds.
AL- A's, Indians, Orioles, Red Sox, Tigers, Twins, White Sox
3) Each year you will get all of that team’s imports. Original imports need 50 AB or 25 IP. Under 100 AB/35 IP gets stats doubled. If a player played for more than one team, he goes to the one he had the most in that final season (AB or IP). Future imports will be set at 100/35.
4) Rosters: Major league – 26, plus 12 more in the minors.
5) No contracts
6) No Trades.
7) 4 man rotations , Sims set to run every 3 hours
8) Duplicate players cannot co-exist in the league
9) Following the original roster imports, each team can pick four players total from either your team's 1986 or 2009 roster (those are the years Ben was born and died). If there is a player eligible and wanted by more than 1 team, he'll go to the team where he played the most that season: AB or IP. These players won't have stat change available.
10) 162 game schedule. 2 leagues 6 teams each. The division winners, and a wild card, make the playoffs. Series are 2-3-2. Tie breakers: If both teams make the playoffs, the tie breaker is head to head, then point differential. If one team is in, and the other is out, a one game playoff decides who is in and who goes home.
11) POSITION CHANGES:
Pitchers: If you are short of starters, or relievers, you can switch one to the other to fill a need. When you pick your 4 modern players, you may want to pick some pitchers.
Fielders: Will switch primary and secondary position when the secondary position was played 25% of the players career (by games played) or 50% of the present season.
These changes are made during the offseason only.
12) Stat change and progression: There will be unlimited stat change to the current season (must have 100 AB or 35 IP). Players that get stat changed get moved to that age, which is in this leagues case, makes them younger. Progression age is set at 28/32 and uses classic progression. YOU CANNOT STAT CHANGE THE 4 MODERN PLAYERS YOU PICK.
13. Fatigue and injuries are used. (5 on players, 7 on pitchers) max games on injuries
OFFSEASON DUTIES:
Emptying of the free agent pool.
Imports: Future imports will be set at 100/35.
Unlimited Stat changes.
14) New and additional rules will be added when I think of them.
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
