After going through about 20 players that I needed to "unretire", I decided that there is a more efficient way than scrolling through hundreds of names to find the one that you need. When you click on the link from the player page, that is obviously the player that you want to unretire. Would it be possible to go directly to that player's name?
Second, there are too many players with duplicate names. It would be nice if there was a way to distinguish them easier in the database, particularly if their careers overlap: Francisco Rodriguez, Alex Gonzalez, Ken Griffey, Jeff Robinson, all the Randy Johnsons and Dave Roberts, etc. One easy fix would be to add a Jr. to the ones where that would apply. Another idea is to change one Jeff Robinson to "Jeffrey". It might cause some initial confusion, but overall I think that it would be useful so that commissioners who aren't aware that there were two different "Jeff Robinsons" don't accidentally delete one of them or try to combine them.

Re: 2 suggestions/requests

@todorojo looks like this is what I intended for, but never quite finished - it's working now, should auto-select the player you want when clicking from the card.

Not sure I like the idea of essentially changing players' actual names - players with identical names is a part of life, so maybe there are ways to help in this case without changing actual names.

Re: Re: 2 suggestions/requests

Not sure if this is the best way but one way I thought of to clarify if there are duplicate names would be to have the year and/or the team in parentheses with the name if there is more than one. For example: Jeff Robinson (1988, DET) or Jeff Robinson (1988, PIT), etc.

Re: Re: 2 suggestions/requests

You’re probably right. The suggestion was probably a knee-jerk reaction to confusing the Alex Gonzalezes in a recent transaction. Also, there were a couple of instances where 2 players stats have been accidentally combined in the past. I noticed that some of the Jr. tags have been added, but there are still some that haven’t (Dick Schofield). Thanks.

Re: 2 suggestions/requests

I do have one other request. On the "Import Historic Player or Team" page, it would be nice if a pitcher's pitching stats were before his batting stats. I'm not how many times I've accidentally selected a NL pitcher's batting stats to import instead of his pitching stats, but I accidentally deleted all of Nolan Ryan's pitching stats in one league because I updated his "retired" 40+ self with his 1988 batting stats and didn't catch it until the next season.
