Which is least terrible defender of 2?

Which is least terrible defender of 2?

More accurate description than which is better lol…

So who would you play at dh and which would you play in the field (comparing only these two players still drafting bench and 1b or last starting of)

Ohtani (1st base is 2nd position, no posted fielding % and -1.7 dwar) or schwarber in of .941 / -1.9 dwar in of

Can’t remember impact of dwar at 2nd position and don’t think I’ve seen no fielding percentage and eligible for 2nd position

Looking for thoughts from those preferably not currently drafting league 2487 lol

Re: Which is least terrible defender of

I think the answer is Schwarber is the "better" defender. That's a sentence you probably won't see again. Just looking at Ohtani's page in that league
https://www.pennantchase.com/lgPlay..
and it looks like the Suns tried to play him briefly presumably at 1b. He made 4 errors to 36 putouts and was -1 in D's. For reference, a normal first baseman makes a few errors per 1,000 putouts.

But that OF of Judge, Soto, Schwarber isn't gonna help out your pitchers in the field (but they'll mash) - that's for sure.

Re: Which is least terrible defender of

I asked Guy once about the impact of a DH who has a non-DH secondary position but no fielding percentage listed, and I think his answer was that the sim should treat no fielding percentage as something like .900. Since 1B is Ohtani's secondary position, that would drop him to .850. Gonna be a LOT of errors, on top of the terrible dWAR.

Trying to hide Schwarber in RF definitely sounds like a better option.
