Change Player Stats - Explain please?
Change Player Stats - Explain please?
New here. Want to take baseball very serious. What does CHANGE PLAYER STATS do? Is there a benefit? Is there a section on here that you can link to me that will explain this? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Re: Change Player Stats - Explain pleas
Depending on what league you're in, it definitely can, and I do it all the time!
If it's a league based on a single year, or random players, you will not be able to, as it's designed to play for that specific player of that season...if it's a decades league or what have you, sure, go nuts and see if you can configure it to your advantage!
All dependent on what you want to do...Example: Someone might have a way higher OPS in another year but be a horrid defender, so you split the difference and take a less volatile year defensively, but they might not have slugged as much.
Hope that helps!

Re: Change Player Stats - Explain pleas
Or in rare cases you have players who's default season for a particular year range isnt exactly what you would consider to be that player' best year. For example: for the longest time, whenever I got RP Aroldis Chapman in All Time Great, best of 1970-present, etc leagues, he used to always default to his 2012 stats. But I (and some others I noticed doing the same as me) always preferred swapping him to his 2014 stats instead (in 2012, he has a WHIP that is only a few points lower but noticeably lower H/9 and K/9 rates than his 2014 performance). It was only recently that I noticed his default had changed across the board (he now defaults to 2014 in all cases I've paid attention to since) so I assume he was being swapped often enough and gbacci noticed it and tweaked his default season
Re: Re: Change Player Stats - Explain p
Now Chapman's 2025 is his best. Sometimes I change seasons to fill a position - in ATG Albert Pujols has his default OF season, but also has several good 1B seasons. Jim Thome has a usable season at 3B if you have a need there. When you've played a set long enough, you identify players with position flexibility.
