Roster Issue
I think this has happened before but I was just able to catch it in action and am curious if others have seen it - players that had previously been cut are magically reappearing on rosters. As a result I went from all teams being roster compliant to having 7 teams over the roster limit, my own included. I suddenly have three players in my minor league system that I know I dropped before the season started.
Has anyone else had this happen? Thanks in advance!

@twolvesfan I don’t see your team having dropped anyone recently. Is this a real progression league? I am wondering if during progression the box was checked to return unretiring players to former teams? When do you think the players got added back to your roster?

It's a random progression league. The players were added back randomly after the season started, so it wasn't during progressions. Several teams, mine included, dropped players to get down to the maximum amount. Then like 15 league days into the season they were just added totally out of the blue.

@twolvesfan nobody that was dropped (as shown on the transaction log) is still on a team. Do you know an example of who was dropped/re-added? I'm at a loss because any move like that would get recorded. Would the drops have happened after the progression was run?

I agree, it's baffling. When I go back and look at my transaction log, I see the drops that occurred after rosters were progressed. None of the drops I made with the Nationals are in the list. I KNOW I dropped C Al Lopez, yet it's not in the log and he's on my roster. It was 7 or 8 teams all at the same time who went over the limit, on the same league day, including a couple of teams by like 3 or even 5 players. I assume there's no way the waiver claim system would allow that, and none of those adds are in the transaction log.
It's happened in this league specifically for like 3 years in a row, always towards the beginning of the season. I go in and remove extra players or ask owners to do it again and then the rest of the season is fine.

I'm definitely at a loss - if any other commish or league has experienced this, please do let me know and maybe we can identify some common reason - I scoured the code for all places a player can even be placed on a team, and I just can't see any reason for this, but I guess it's possible something is right in front of my nose. You do run waivers after each game, so maybe I need to do another quick run through that code - that is the only place I could fathom something strange is happening, but it's really odd it would happen once per season and then everything is fine.
