Re: Who is everyone?

Re: Who is everyone?

Hello PC. Doug here and I might be the most northerly player here hailing from the heart of the Yukon living with my 3rd wife and two pooches. I have a grown up daughter who lives in the Caribbean. To say it gets cold here in the Yukon, is an understatement as we consistently reach -50 for extended periods of time in the winter. It can get quite warm in the summer too (+30 Celsius) with almost 24 hour days in the summer. Total darkness around winter solstice which makes playground duty interesting! I’m a school principal here which, undoubtedly, would surprise my high school teachers based on my truancy record growing up in Ottawa where I was a childhood Expos fan cheering on Dawson, Carter, Raines and company listening mostly to radio broadcasts with Dave Van Horne and Duke Snider calling the play. 1994 broke my heart where it looked like the Expos were headed for their inaugural championship which might have kept them in Montreal! I was disgusted with MLB thereafter and only retook baseball interest after watching Moneyball and reading the book. I don’t watch much baseball really (playoffs usually) , preferring to play occasionally and join in on student games and impressing with my power hitting to left field. I usually end up pitching, otherwise the kids aren’t able to make any contact off of wayward student pitching.

Thanks to the boss for running a great site. Although, I’m frequently aggrieved to see runners on 2nd getting thrown out at 3rd when a bunt is dropped. In real life, the runner would see off the fielder before committing to the run. But, I digress.
