Re: Notice: Change Log Updated
Re: Notice: Change Log Updated
I want to copy the message I sent to Commissioners here since this update released a pretty large new feature:
Dear Commissioners, I wanted to make you aware of the launch of a new feature - Draft Pick Trades. Currently, the only option is for commissioners to manually enter Draft Overrides when users trade players. Users have to communicate via messages which picks have been traded and then communicate that back to the commissioner who enters the Override. This new feature allows leagues to make draft picks available for user trades, with no intervention needed by the Commissioner. Users will be able to offer picks via the Trade Center, as well as add picks to the Trade Block. Commissioners will still be able to Rollback trades via the Transaction Log.
Some leagues use the live draft room and then switch over to supplemental drafts halfway through... the traded picks only work in the Live Draft Room, so in these cases, you could still use the feature for the first few rounds, but you shouldn't allow Supplemental picks to be traded by users. In these cases, you might determine it's easier to continue to manually control all traded picks. If there is enough demand, I may be able to eventually integrate Supplemental Drafts into this feature.
You'll find this new page under the Drafts & Picks section of Commish Tools. By default, all leagues are still on the Draft Overrides method. If you choose to cutover, you'll need to enter a year and the number of picks and rounds you want to be tradeable. After each season, you'll need to return to this page to add new picks to the list that are eligible for being traded. I plan to make a video walking through this feature in the coming days, and I also will add a new step to the Post-Season Wizard and eventually add this as an auto option in the Automated Post-Season Tasks section. As always, you can remain on the current style if you choose to have more control over traded picks. I've tested out all the various features, but if you try out the new feature, please do let me know if you run into any issues.
