do the players get their stats boosted somehow? i was looking at the Astros roster and it shows Alvarez hitting 47 HRs in 2019 with a slg% of .902 which isn't historically accurate. just curious...

I don't know as much as others about this game, but I think I can give you an answer to your question as to why that happens. Some of the leagues are progression leagues. Alvarez played a season with his 2019 stats. Then the next year he probably played again with his 2019 stats. In doing this he aged a year. His stats may go up or they may go down, it's unpredictable. There are different ways leagues are set up, so , read the rules to see what type of league you are joining. Hope this helps.
