Refreshing Bullpen for Playoff Game 7's

Refreshing Bullpen for Playoff Game 7's

I have an issue with game 7 Playoff Reset on Relievers, It's unfair to have a guy that may have thrown their max stamina to be 100% the very next day, I'm not saying he should be TOTALLY unavailable, but a Full Reset seems a bit excessive.
It also devalues a Team that might have a great Bullpen, that's rested after good starting performances while the opponent may be at a serious disadvantage

Anyone else?

Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

i think the reset is far more realistic. teams either win or go home so guys should be leaving it all on the field, i have lost so many game 7's after the sim burns my best guys in a game 6 blowout. i can live with losing game 7 if my best were used not my #5 reliever

Re: Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

i have also lost many game 7's, to the point where if i am up 3 - 1, or 3 - 2 in the series, then i just expect that i will lose in 7.

Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

If you think feeling like you will lose if youre up 3-2 or 3-1, imagine how it's like for people who lost many times despite being up 3-0 😅

Just ask the sheik, me and him have both blown 3-0 leads plenty of times, especially when either of us had the best regular season record lol

Re: Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

Back to the main question of this thread, I also have issue with the pen reset. If you build a deep bullpen or shallow bullpen, you should get the rewards or punishment of that strategy. If you have a game 6 SP that goes deep, you should get the reward.

FULL reset seems like too much.

I apologize for the Subject Title, forgot to update

Re: Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

maybe guys are not 100% but in game 7 it is all hands on deck. game 7 dodgers vs bluejays is a prime example, yamamoto starts game 6, goes 6 then pitches 2.2 ip the next night. do or die makes the situation different in my opinion

Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

Well, it seems like every time I get the reset for game 7, I win the series. Saying this now will most likely jinx me for sure.

Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

yeah, that's true. there has been many world series where a starter has came in and either started on short rest or came in as a reliever in a must win game. however, i thought this reset is just for the bullpen? to make it more historically accurate it would need to reset the #1 starters stamina so they can pitch in the game 7, right?

Re: Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

to clarify, its that they are FULLY restored, that seems a bit excessive, say in game 6 the team down 3-2 falls behind 7-1 in the 3rd inning and a long reliever, possibly an SP in relief, goes 55 pitches - he gets a full reset?

or same situation and the winning team blows through their entire bullpen's stamina, they are all fully rested?

Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

The way the engine works it’s more complicated to reset all the starters as well. Maybe a future enhancement. My thoughts on the RPs are that in PC, RPs are never stretched, which is also somewhat unrealistic for the playoffs. So resetting them for one game didn’t seem too unrealistic or unfair, because in reality if a team had a stud RP they’d likely pitch more than they do in the regular season.

Re: Re: At Bats VS Plate appearance

Would it be possible for the Game 7 reset to be indicated after Game 6 ends and before Game 7 plays?

While I know about the theory that the Game 7 reset of some pitchers is supposed to happen, several SPs and RPs always indicate they need rest after Game 6 ends and before Game 7 starts, then I get an email after Game 7 saying something about the pitchers being available during the Game 7 that just played (not sure of the language in the email).

I am not clear on whether RPs who show they need 1 day of rest in "Player Out" after Game 6 actually can pitch during Game 7. I am not clear if SPs who would normally need 1 or 2 days of rest (after Game 6) can pitch in Game 7.

It would remove confusion if the Game 7 reset would be indicated by all RPs or SPs who can pitch in Game 7 showing no rest needed (after Game 6) in the "Player Out" section. Or, if the email could be sent after Game 6 to advise what the Game 7 reset actually means, in terms of what the "Game 7 Reset" will mean to my pitching staff.
