stadium configuration

stadium configuration

i tend to stick more with no effect or mild boost depending on which side of the plate i have more power from. my question is do people like to stick with a certain style or do you mix it up? does having big disadvantage help improve your pitching? or would you also need excellent outfield defense? i guess i usually focus more on offense, it is what sells tickets!! lol. just curious on different takes on team building. thanks

Re: stadium configuration

Like you said, I think the decision should revolve around how you like to build your team. I will generally go for a litttle bigger than average field (mild disadvantage) because I like to try to build my team around speed & on base percentage instead of fixating on Home Runs & slugging percentage but that's just me.

Re: stadium configuration

I love playing with the configuration. It's one of my favorite features of the PC baseball game.

Sometimes for the budget favorite teams leagues I will go in with a park configuration and tailor my roster to that.

For example, I could build a team that is full of sluggers and do a big advantage park on both sides. Or a great pitching/fielding/speed team with big disadvantage both. Or an all lefty lineup or all righty lineup. It keeps it interesting as the same franchise can have almost entirely different starting lineups and still be relatively successful. It makes the home field advantage huge in the playoffs if you can get a good seed.

Re: Re: stadium configuration

i guess the only configuration i have not really tried is big disadvantage mainly because with auto drafts the pitching now is more spread out so seems harder to get a really deep staff. i do like to go speed and defense but sometimes it seems like power is offered more frequently. thanks for the responses.

Re: stadium configuration

I think with the quick drafts it really depends on what players you end up with. If I have mostly RH hitters and mostly RH pitchers then making my park Big Disadvantage for LH hitters makes a lot of sense. If I have better pitching than most other teams (particularly low H/IP I'll lean into that and make the park bigger).

This team is a good example. Not a great team but will probably make the playoffs thanks to the ballpark adjustments.....
