Midgame Platoons-can you do it?

Have a question about how you can sub a platoon player out midgame when a Right or left handed starter is pulled for an opposite handed reliever. Can you do this in the current sim and how do you make these changes occur?

Here's the scenario- I have several starting players that only start against LHP and others that only start when we are facing a RHP starter. When a starter is pulled and an opposite handed reliever comes in I would like to have some of starting platoon players pulled for the other platooning player that I use in that same position for the opposite handed pitcher. Here's the problem- because I start the other platooning player against opposite handed pitching, that platoon player I want to bring in is not listed as an eligible pinch hitter against the opposite handed pitcher that came in because that platoon player is slotted in the starting lineup with the opposite handed pitcher. Not sure if I am communicating this dilemma properly but I would imagine that other managers that like to play righty/lefty matchups like I do have probably run into the same issue that I have. Any suggestions that the developers can offer so I can bring in my RH batting platoon starters into the game when they are facing a LHP reliever? AS things are I cannot figure out how I can make this happen.

It's called the Platoon PH on the SOM 360 site. The platoon differentials are much more extreme in that game, so it makes sense. I'm not sure there's a big enough difference to matter in PC.

Not really sure how much righty/lefty matchups impact the PC sim but based on my experience playing this sim it does matter when you look at the compiled stats. The question is does the righty/lefty differentials correlate to the stat splits that you can see on the baseball reference website of not. Would really like to get the developer's input on this- I think he put in the play righty Vs Lefty matchup option in the edit strategy menu for a reason- if platoon stats didn't matter why is that managerial option in there?

I had a discussion early on in my tenure on PC with Guy about that very issue. I was told that the actual platoon stats are NOT used on PC, and that there is a slight built in bias towards opposite hand pitching, so that in theory, LHB may do better vs RHP and vice versa. Also, unlike SOM, player performance is not "normalized" to league stats for individual seasons. PC and SOM are different kinds of Sims, but both are a lot of fun !!
