Re: Basketball
Re: Basketball
This appears to be a nature of the stats and the fact that PC leagues are loaded with the best players, who all drew plenty of fouls. Some interesting data:
PC games average around 5 more free-throw attempts per game than a guesstimated NBA average - frankly, that's small considering PC games are loaded with players who went to the line a lot.
PC games on average have about a 6.5 disparity in free throw attempts per team, which is about double the NBA average, but I think that makes sense when considering how many leagues on PC have a huge gap in team quality.
Right now most PC hoops leagues are Favorite Teams and most of those have bots who draft terribly - some of the bot teams lose a lot and go to the line far less than the better teams in the league.
So considering the imbalance and the fact that PC leagues are loaded with players who get to the line often, the numbers aren't too surprising.
In regards to wild outlier games, where there is a 20+ free throw disparity, PC is again running higher (about 7-10% more games) than a typical NBA season, and within PC, Fav Teams leagues run higher than others. I think the story there is similar- when a top team in a PC league faces a really bad team, the FT disparity is particularly high.
It could still be worth diving into the sim logic a bit, but I think the real issue is team parity especially in Fav Teams.
