Happy New Year - welcome 2025!
Happy New Year! I know we say this every year, but really, it’s 2025?? We’re a quarter into this new century? Wow and yikes.
PC is approaching its 17th anniversary. Hard to fathom we’ll be celebrating two decades of Pennant Chase in the not too distant future.
I always feel like I don’t have enough time to spend on the site, but when I look back at the accomplishments, it’s always a robust list! We started the year with the drama of losing our ad partner and had to replace them. We added Negro League and Japan baseball stats. We added the new owner-tagging feature. We added the ability to create new Auto Leagues as needed. And of course the big one: Favorite Teams Budget Draft leagues.
That list doesn’t even include the redesign that started in 2024, and will continue in 2025.
Okay… now it’s time for our annual shoutouts to the user leaders. In baseball, we had three owners win over 50,000 auto league games this year alone! Rreebe916 (57,597 with a .653 winning pct), WorcWarr (52,334 with a .605 winning pct), and Chaad (52,184 with a .643 winning pct).
On the hardcourt, we have a newcomer Shane211 with 8,697 wins and a .689 winning pct. Luccy8 might be my new favorite player on PC, because this person had the second most basketball wins despite a losing record: 4,860 with a .479 winning pct - way to stick with it!! I have to mention, of course, the amazing bdavids who didn’t rack up as many wins, but finished with a wild .798 winning pct (3,260 - 824).
Over on the gridiron, jamin and nathaniel20 continue their mastery of the football game. (I need some tips!!) Jamin was 2,487 - 582 for an .810 win pct and nathaniel was 2,231 - 1,151 with a .660 win pct. Honorable mention to trulaia who was third with a 740 - 305 record for an impressive .708 win pct.
I hope everyone has a great new year - I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings to Pennant Chase!
