Just curious, in the game below tied 2-2 in the 7th there is a lead off triple, why on Earth would the SIM intentionally walk the next batter?
there is no upside whatsoever, yes my team tied it up in the bottom of the 7th and lost later, but this is idiotic, if the next guy grounds out or hits a SF driving in the run, there's 1 out and bases empty, even if a double play ball is hit, the run scores this just allows another base runner.
it's the 7th inning, the infield is not playing in, this is stupid unless I'm missing something
maybe the manager bet the over ? your right makes no sense

I brought this up because I thought it seemed really odd, and recently there had been talks about perhaps tweaking bringing defenses in and not simply allowing the run to score in a tight game.
I can see intentionally walking the next hitter after a ONE out bases empty 3B, now you are setting up a possible DP to get you out of the inning without a run scoring, but with no outs it adds no value.
So I was wondering if perhaps Guy had done some tinkering with the game play to possibly bring the IF in earlier in a game, and if so, it had created this logic by the SIM with is actually Illogical.
Again with 1 or 2 outs perfectly fine, with no outs, NOT GOOD

I didn’t look at the specific game but you’d still want to walk the stud hitter if a bad one (who strikes out or hits weakly) is on deck. Like you said to setup double play wouldn’t make sense but there are other reasons.
For the game in question and in general it makes little to no sense to walk someone with 0 outs and a man on third. At that point most teams would be willing to limit the damage to 1 run and hoping that somehow they get out of it. Although usually not likely unless you get back to back k's or have the infield in and get back to back ground balls right at someone.
Only scenario that works out if you walk someone with a man on third and nobody out is if you can guarantee the next batter will hit into a double play. But the runner on third will still score regardless. Or if you can guarantee a strikeout and then set up the double play.
Why would you intentionally add another extra baserunner to that situation? Too many bad things can happen.
If you had 1 out instead then I could see the logic and see why you would take the chance.
Just my opinion though.

exactly, and if you look at the play by play, the batter that hit the triple was thrown out at home and the run was scored by the intentionally walked player
In this specific situation it makes no sense because the number 8 and 9 hitters are next. 9 much worse than 8 but you’d take your chances with both. The sim isn’t going to figure that out, if a base is open it walks if next batter is worse. I agree it could be turned off for runner at 3rd no out but there are cases where you’d walk a Bonds type even with no outs to face a much weaker hitter. The sim really can’t figure out each situation it has to be set pretty much all or nothing.
