Awards Formula

Awards Formula

I’m curious if there’s been any consideration to revise the formulas for All Stars/Awards recently. Specifically when it comes to pitching, I’d love to see a formula that puts less weight on wins - seems to be the direction the game is going in real life, particularly with deGrom’s back-to-back CYs. Would personally love to see the awards be more reflective of this trend, if it’s not too much of a pain.

Also, more of a curiosity - any particular reason why the awards formulas appear to be slightly different than the All Star formulas? There was a discussion in one league I’m in recently regarding some players who were higher-ranked on the awards page than their positional opponents, and yet simultaneously fell short in All Star selections. Certainly not a big deal, but was wondering. Thanks!

"Awards" violates the basic tenets of socialism. We should not be creating artificial measures of performance to create a privileged class.

Re: Awards Formula

Agreed Mike....like we had in one of our leagues. We had a player who was in the Top 10 of the MVP voting, but wasn't even close to being an All-Star. My thought is, if they are in the Top 10 for MVP Voting, they by all means should be an All Star if they are considered one of the Top 10 players in the League
