Curtis Granderson
So if this is a simulation how is it Tim Lincecum, Curtis Granderson and Brady Anderson to name just a few ALWAYS finish ahead of actual great players? Lincecum's 2009 season isn't better than many, many, many pitchers' seasons they're allegedly playing in this "game" yet Lincecum ends up better than them 80 to 90% of the time. Even the times Lincecum is bad, he's still a starter level performer for any team.
Brady Anderson constantly has a .750 to near or over .800 OPS. Curtis Granderson and his 24 offense rating is constantly very near or over .700 OPS when HOF players who had MUCH better seasons offensively are .575 to .650 OPS, meaning those HOF'ers are constantly AVERAGE and Granderson is a star because Granderson's defense is better than tons of the guys OPSing the same thing he is.
This alleged sim somehow finds that 80 or 90 percent of the time Tim Lincecum and Brady Anderson are the actual HOF players. Go look at players in your leagues and on the FA list that batted .297 or above and slugged .637 or above. Well over 80% of the time Brady Anderson out OPSes them by a hundred points and Granderson is also out OPSing them by 25 to 50 points well OVER 80% of the time, even though Granderson's season base is .302/.552.
None of this could happen this often in an actual simulation. Punching in all the better numbers of a hundred guys and certain guys always rising above anyway. In an actual simulation my Tim Lincecum wouldn't beat my opponents Clayton Kershaw twice in back to back starts. However, Lincecum being better than Kershaw is totally destroyed if you turn on intentional walks. Again, impossible that happens in an actual simulation. Tim Lincecum intentionally walked people in 2009 as does EVERY pitcher EVERY year he ever pitches.
This is NOT a simulation. No simulation would have Lincecum lights out UNTIL you turn on intentional walks. Intentional walks are to get the BEST hitters out of the way so you can face a weaker hitter. If Lincecum dominates facing all batters but somehow falls totally apart when he's walking Jeff Bagwell or Albert Pujols, walks those guys then gets destroyed by the same hitters he was dominating BEFORE the intentional walks, THEN NOT A SIMULATON!!! That sabotage has to be programmed into the "game" NOT A SIMULATON when he was dominating while pitching to Bagwell and Pujols but gets killed when pitching around them to only face the WORSE hitters.
Not Lincecum specific. Many pitchers get better after walks is on and many get worse. So there are pitchers who were getting killed by the weak hitters when walking Bagwell and Pujols who somehow get BETTER when they actually pitch to those 2 guys. It's exactly OPPOSITE of what should happen, meaning THIS IS NOT A SIMULATION!!! You can reply with your pretzel logic "defending" this insanity but I won't be reading it. I'm done playing this garbage now. Go get up Lincecum, Granderson and Anderson ASAP baseball know-nothings and time wasters.
