collusion

collusion

Bryce harper and machado are still without jobs and spring training is near.rumor has it that dodgers are front runners for harper.

Re: collusion

Not collusion just because owners don’t want to pay 300 mil. They’ll sign for lower than what they ask for but still huge.

Re: Re: collusion

GM's are finally learning from the mistakes of others over the years who overpaid on long term contracts and got mixed returns. How's Pujols working out? Believe it or not, the Dodgers finally, this off season, had Carl Crawford's contract drop off their ledger !! That was a great deal :) You can't put a gun to team's heads and force them to sign players - it's not collusion, it's sanity.

Re: collusion

Biggest problem is that the majority of the franchises don't even care about building a competitive team...

Moustakas case is for me is the most probant one. Any team that would care about securing a nevralgic position at a fair asking price would jump on that guy...

Re: Re: collusion

Teams are just plain smarter. Smarter than they've ever been. (And why I'm praying my Phils don't get too "stupid with their money", already gave more than was needed for Realmuto.) That article you point to Dwayne does a pretty good (surprising for ESPN) job of summing up the ebb and flow throughout the 21st century.

Everything has changed. Analytics, what teams are looking for, the age at which players are expected to contribute, how they contribute, how they're cost controlled, the number of years teams are willing to risk on guys north of their 28th birthday. The list goes on and on. Cano, Pujols, Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Crawford, A-Gon, A-Rod...Its hard to think of a megadeal that either A. didn't blow up in a team's face or B. handcuff a team financially well past that player's prime years.

You see more focus on growth and development with the success of teams like the Royals, the Cubs, the Astros in recent years...I'm sure the desire to impulse buy hasn't waned.. More teams are just willing to "wait until it goes on sale" in terms of acquiring FA help.

The domino effect is more noticeable now than ever before because we have constant media saturation to coincide with teams becoming more fiscally responsible/smart. When something works for one team, other teams will always try to incorporate into their gameplan.

The dominoes should start to fall any day now. I mean, they HAVE to, right ? ;)

Re: Re: collusion

Nevralgic?? That has to be a made up word, either that or you need more covfeve

Re: collusion

''what makes for the heat at this nevralgic point is that there is a strong sense of deficit in a world where people use to feel a presence'' - A secular age - Charles Taylor

google is my best friend...

its a figurative sense used to replace neuralgic..or key, sensitive, -point,position. But you are partially right...it is not an english word...but surely not a made up word....

I am just a french speaking person trying to communicate in another language, please forgive my ignorance sincity...
