Eligible Seasons

Eligible Seasons

I'm seeing some seasons with very few ABs that look like they're eligible to switch to (Not Red).
Is there a setting in custom leagues to set a minimum number of ABs or IPs?

Re: Eligible Seasons

A related question...In one of my leagues Phil Plantier has a ranking of 94 and 22 HRs for his real stats. This is obviously combined from linked seasons but I don't see any combination that add up to that.

Re: Re: Eligible Seasons

League please. Too many to search through

Re: Eligible Seasons

It’s his 1991 stats doubled. Percentages are the same.

Re: Re: Eligible Seasons

So I have him in a few leagues and the stats are the same (doubled). Is that common to manipulate the stats to make a player eligible?

Re: Eligible Seasons

Stats are doubled in Custom leagues where progressions are used to make progressions fall in line with the rest of the league's players with significant AB/IP.. Players with uber low AB/IP will progress/regress at a more significant rate.
The rate of the stat does not change, as Yankee said.

5 doubles, a triple, and 3 HR in 200 AB is the same as 10 doubles, 2 triples, and 6 HR in 400 AB..

Re: Re: Eligible Seasons

But these aren't custom leagues, they're auto.

Re: Eligible Seasons

I wonder if low AB players seasons were allowed the doubling because below is Plantier's career stats (stats in question are 1991)

https://www.baseball-reference.com/..
IRL he had 148 ABs & 11 HRs; moosejaa's team has it listed as 296 ABs & 22 HRs

Re: Eligible Seasons

I’d guess Guy did it to allow for more players in the pool.

Re: Re: Eligible Seasons

That was my assumption as well.

Re: Eligible Seasons

This might be a leftover from a mistake doubling of a few years ago... we've undoubled most of them, but there might a few lingering out there.
