Possible record?

Possible record?

First time I can remember having a player hit 3 triples in a game. Has anyone had any player hit 3 or more?

The player for me was believe or not, Jimmie Foxx!

Re: Possible record?

46 players in real mlb have hit 3 triples in a game , the last player was denard span in 2010. This makes it more rare than a no hitter and half as rare as a perfect game. with the way todays ballparks are aligned it will be a stretch to ever happen again. as for here who knows but i doubt it happens often. If there is one major improvement that gbacci could make would somehow be a way to keep single game records of most rbi, k's , sb etc.

Re: Re: Possible record?

That would be cool. Like that suggestion. I agree 3 triple games are very, very rare!

Re: Possible record?

I'm in a custom league that started in 1970 and the only player to do it is manny sanguillen

Re: Re: Possible record?

Maybe this is a record for biggest playoff loss by a higher-seeded team. My first ranked Jays just lost game 2 in round 1 to the 4th seeded Cubs by a score of 18-0. Can anyone beat that?

Re: Possible record?

I'm just happy that my BoSox aren't in the same predicament as your Jays. Haha

As of when I typed this up, we're up 2-1 over the Braves, and you're down 3-0 to the Cubs 😉🤣

Re: Possible record?

I think it is safe to say you own the record LOL

Re: Re: Possible record?

an 18-0 stomping is a pretty big loss, however, you can feel content in that it means just as much as if you lost 2-1 - it's 1 game out of a best of 7

Unless your bullpen got decimated and your next starter has low stamina, in THAT case - Toronto, you may have a problem...

Re: Possible record?

The 2001 Mariners are the prime example of this , they won 116 games but lost in the playoffs and didn't even make the world series. You just have to win one more game than the other team to be champs.

Re: Possible record?

Sure, they won 116 games against all teams, but in the playoffs you only face playoff teams. It’s almost always anyone can win at that point.

Re: Re: Possible record?

yeah you just repeated what i said

Re: Possible record?

btw, my Jays got swept by the Cubs in that series. At least the other three games were closer than 18-0. Not much of a silver lining! lol

This is wonderful news for the small yet determined anti-Canadian-happiness contingent.
