Trevor Bauer Situation?

Trevor Bauer Situation?

I was wondering what everyone thinks of the Bauer situation. I don't think what he did was right by any means, but a lot of the things that he was accused of doing aren't true, and the court ruled him innocent. I think a year's suspension retroactive to his first period of administrative leave is fair. 2 years is just absurd.

Re: Trevor Bauer Situation?

I am not a Bauer fan, likely also in part to how negotiations played out with the Mets. That is in the past though and our team is fine without him. I would tend to agree with you and say two years is a bit much.

Re: Trevor Bauer Situation?

It may be a small point to some, but US courts do not ever rule anyone "innocent". They find people guilty or not guilty, but never "innocent". Also, the Bauer case never went to trial, so he has not been found guilty, not guilty or innocent by any court.

Re: Re: Trevor Bauer Situation?

2 years is too much. For sure.

Re: Trevor Bauer Situation?

A court did not find him innocent - the prosecutors declined to bring charges because they didn't have a slam dunk case.I live in SoCal, and everything you see in the local news tells you, the Dodgers DON'T want him back - and they just got another 60 mil to spend !! It will be interesting to see if he gets any kind of reduction in his suspension in arbitration. The Dodgers are waiting to the dust to settle - I expect them to attempt to void his contract under the Morals Clause.

Re: Trevor Bauer Situation?

I suspect it was a gift to the Dodgers as they no longer have to pay him. It was a harsh suspension but there is a good bet that there is more information not in the public domain yet.

I do not see him playing again. He is too high profile to just slip on a roster and let's face it ... he is not well liked across the league even before this. Not many teams are going to be looking to do him any favors even if he is a talented pitcher.

Yankees will sign Bauer after Dodgers void their contract.
