Features/Changes

Features/Changes

A few updates have just been released:

1. In Auto Leagues, when a trade offer is made for a player, or a player is traded, changing stats is not allowed. Trade offers must be deleted before a player's stats can be changed. Once a player is traded, his stats can no longer change.

2. Custom leagues now also have the option to turn on the above feature.

3. Custom leagues now have the option to turn on the No Drop list.

4. Team budget totals now on Team Pages (nice recommendation from stonemob)

5. Custom commissioners will be notified of a completed trade in their league.

Re: Features/Changes

Speaking of trades, is there a way for commishes to be notified when trades are made?

Re: Re: Features/Changes

perhaps could there be a part where in the schedule you can change the stadium ( so playoff games could be in nuetral zones, like the college baseball playoffs)?

Re: Features/Changes

I think I understand the idea behind the trade/stats change thing, but I am not sure I like it (unless I misunderstand the feature).

I would say the way the restriction should work is that IF you change a players stats and that player is traded their stats ought to be locked in. But if I trade for someone whose stats have not been changed why can't I change the stats?

An example, sometimes I will try to acquire ARod to move him to 3B .. so I change his stats to one of his seasons on the Yankees. This is obviously not an underhanded move that should be blocked.

Re: Re: Features/Changes

I think the restriction is to prevent an owner from taking advantage of another owners lack of season changing ability knowledge.

If its truly on the up and up, an owner should have no problem with asking the other owner to change the player to be traded to the season you want to use him as.

Once the other owner changes the season though, he might see the diamond in the rough and decide not to make the trade or counter offer

Re: Re: Features/Changes

@Babe - forgot that is in there now too, I will modify my original post.

@mark - Yes, understandable. If this creates more problems than it solves, we can revisit it... as it stands, the owner would have to change Rodriguez now before he gets traded to you. Keep in mind, this is only Auto Leagues and not Custom Leagues unless they choose to adopt it, which I suspect few will.

Re: Features/Changes

Great! Team budget on Team Home page is nice and clean. Love that, especially.

Re: Re: Features/Changes

for the no drop list could we get a message if a owner tries to drop a player on the no drop list, this would help solve tanking issues

Re: Features/Changes

No drop players literally CAN NOT be dropped, it's pretty self-explanatory... So, please explain your logic for how you think that would change anything regarding tanking?

Re: Re: Features/Changes

to be able to boot them before they did anything else

Re: Features/Changes

Doesn't answer my question... What does trying to drop a player THAT LITERALLY CAN'T BE DROPPED, have to do with tanking in PC?

Re: Re: Features/Changes

Tanking in sports refers to the practice of intentionally fielding non-competitive teams to take advantage of league rules that benefit losing teams. [1] This is a much more common practice in American sports leagues as international sports leagues typically penalize poor performers. International leagues often use what is known as a promotion/relegation system in which the worst teams are relegated and spend the next season in a lower-tiered league. Relegation costs the team revenue and makes it much more difficult to attract top talent, thus making it infeasible to tank. Tanking teams are usually seeking higher picks in the next draft, since league rules generally give the highest draft picks in reverse order to the previous season's worst teams. Tanking may also be referred to as rebuilding. Teams that decide to start tanking often do so by trading away star players in order to reduce payroll and bring in prospects.[2]
also dropping amazing players count

Re: Features/Changes

Dude are you really this clueless??? Tanking is definitely a thing in PC, I will say that. But trying to drop a no drop player can't possibly be counted among tanking strategies because YOU CAN NOT DROP THEM WHATSOEVER, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES AND HOW MANY METHODS YOU TRY! IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Re: Re: Features/Changes

i know that its the fact on wheather you would want them in there after knowing that is what i mean

Re: Features/Changes

Oh for the love of.... I never thought I could be this dumbfounded by one single person... Apparently I was woefully wrong............ 🙄

Re: Re: Features/Changes

what now

Re: Features/Changes

My comments were as straightforward as I could POSSIBLY make them. On both threads... You never seem to learn

Re: Re: Features/Changes

i do ok

Re: Features/Changes

You keep saying that, but your actions always seem to show otherwise. Ever heard the phrase "actions speak louder than words"? Your words mean nothing if you don't adjust your actions to match. But you have yet to do that. That is why you fall flat on your face so often on this site
