137-25! That is fun. Now I'm very curious about the logic of it. Went with Jack Wilson at SS. Did his bat cost me 10 wins, or did his defense get me 10 extra ones?

From my times playing it, I believe it is both...If you can offset his weak batting with your other 8, he's a worthy piece...Obviously that's just anecdotal...I can get into the 140s but it also might just be a troll job where you can't actually win ahha!

I tried this. Classic version. I thought my team was a bit rough especially pitching, but I got 143-19. Just not sure exactly what it's looking for but that's the fun of it. Who are they playing against anyway?
I thought my second team was 1000 times better but 139-23 (range 136-147 wins, I didnt see range of my first try).

I tried it twice and deeply regret it. Don’t be distracted from the important things in life by some shiny new toy that you have no chance of mastering. That’s what Pennant Chase is for!!! 😆😂🤣

138 is my best so far, worst was 107! yuck. seems to fall between 125-138 mostly. tried salary cap once, that was interesting

I took a little closer look at this today and I have so many questions. Like yankeebb said, who exactly are we playing against? Why, when I put Craig Kimbrel as closer, does Zach Britton end up with all of my saves? How do all pitchers in the compiled stats have 0.50 Whips? Does defense matter? Why can't relief pitchers win a game? Why do teams from the 60s offer 3-5 players?
I played once where I took the lowest possible player offered and won 98 games and Sam Zoldak won the MVP with 35 ks. Good times

There’s very little instruction at the bottom of the game. DWAR does matter, extra weight for C, SS, CF (IIRR). I think they’re “playing” an ‘average’ team? Unclear. Saves are wonky, I’m guessing you’re usually up big so the closer doesn’t get as many straight shots at it, with random close/late ending up in the hands of other guys when the CL is on their rest days, maybe? Just a theory. Not sure, pretty fun though!

I think they fixed the WHIP numbers recently as well…at least when I was on my laptop earlier, I think you see more categories than on mobile. It will only show guys “worth” taking, I think, leaves out statistically insignificant guys, or, maybe leaves some guys out to up the difficulty? Or maybe it’s just a bit messed up lol.
