Starting a Pitcher on short rest

Starting a Pitcher on short rest

If I have my ace SP needing one more day rest, but I put all my other SP in the minors, and for e them to start my ace on short rest, what are the consequences?

Re: Starting a Pitcher on short rest

The pitcher won’t be as effective. The punishment gets worse each “day off” the player needs. So if your SP only needs 1 day off, he may not suffer that badly, but he’s playing with less than his usual stats.

Thank You for the clarification

Re: Starting a Pitcher on short res

If he put all but one SP in minors don’t you force some back up? Is that just in Auto leagues? I remember it happening to me end of season when I didn’t want some playing or coming in relief. But then something weird happened and I saw a few came back and I think you told me I had to have at least 3 or 4 in majors.

Re: Starting a Pitcher on short rest

That is true. SPs automatically get called up if you don’t have enough of them on your roster. I don’t remember the exact number required. So you might be able to demote your healthy pitcher and get your ace to start but demoting all of the would result in some getting called back up. I’ll have to dig up the exact numbers.

Re: Re: Starting a Pitcher on short res

In my experience, you can't have fewer than 9 pitchers total and no less than 4 SP.
