R.I.P Willie

R.I.P Willie

Willie McCovey hit 500 hrs when it wasn't as easy as it is now.He was one of the most feared hitters in the game.its a shame giants never won a series with all that talent..mays,marichal,the alous, perry

Re: R.I.P Willie

I googled him to see if he was alive 2 hours before he died.

Re: Re: R.I.P Willie

That's so cool, that's why it was deleted the first time. Its in poor taste. The man is a Hall of Famer, and its the second time you're trying to relegate his life down to some stupid trivia jinx or how you looking him up jinxed him.

Its mindless and disrespectful

R.I.P. Stretch.

Re: R.I.P Willie

I was still pretty young but remember McCovey, He was Jim Rice on steroids in a pitcher dominant era.

Great Player, 19 years with the same team, was so good SF literally gave away Orlando Cepeda, another great hitter to make room for him.

God speed Willie, it was a pleasure watching you play.

McCovey Cove, a fitting tribute

Re: Re: R.I.P Willie

Great player. Just about everyone you saw him , he was smiling. Hit the snot out of the ball. Sad day for sure for baseball.

Re: R.I.P Willie

my 8th grade pe teachers name was john pregenzer, played 2 seasons with giants 63-64. he kept a picture of himself with both willies on his desk.he was 2-0 for his carreer and joked he was mlbs all time leader in win pct.he is along with about a 1000 others lol

Re: Re: R.I.P Willie

Here in the D we had our own Willie.
Mr Horton wasnt as great as Mays or Mccovy . But he did have some big hits and a great Player in the OF.
