The Captain

I just finished watching The Captain. I’m a Blue Jay fan, so I am definitely not a Yankee fan. But I am a Jeter fan after watching the production. I think he is a fairly polarizing figure and public opinions vary a fair bit, but I am on board. I forgot he homered for his 3,000 hit and he had the GW RBI in his last home Yankee game. Worth the watch in my opinion.

I saw it when it came out. It was very good. As baseball fans I think we all sometimes allow our fandom to get in the way of appreciating greatness. Emphasis on sometimes.
I became a Royals fan because I couldnt stand Reggie and Billy Martin. Years later after seeing so Reggie interviews I have a different repect for wht Jackson went through.
Martin was not a likeable person. But when you hear about his childhood it causes me to be more sympathetic. That could also be old age.

Espn sports century had another great one about Billy , I honestly think that if they hadn,t been seperated , he would have given Reggie a run for his money. If I could see any 2 people in baseball history fight it would be Billy vs Lou Pinella , that would be must see tv !!
