Shallow fly

Shallow fly

If I could bet on shallow fly to OF has the result to every at bat with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs, I'd be a rich man....

Re: Re: Shallow fly

My post was fine. You missed the point. The amount of SHALLOW flyballs w/ less than 2 outs in this game is incredible.
I'd rather the player hit an AVERAGE to DEEP flyball or a groundball and drive in the runner, professor

Re: Shallow fly

Based on your 162 rings, I think lazy fly balls have worked well for you.

Re: Shallow fly

this is the one area where RBIs actually do factor in the sim - more rbis helps drive the runner in in that scenario.

Re: Shallow fly

I have to agree with tda81, I understood his original post just fine and I also have a lot of shallow fly balls with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs, nice post !

Re: Re: Shallow fly

Lol, I have to admit I would rather have 162 rings and say something grammatically incorrect than have zero rings and be an English teacher on PC !

Re: Re: Shallow fly

"If I could bet on a shallow fly to the OF as the result to every at bat with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs, I'd be a rich man."

lol this isn't any better

Re: Shallow fly

Lol. Actually, you probably WOULD be a rich man if you copied some of these threads and emailed them to Saturday Night Live. Can't you just imagine an ongoing sketch where 3 or 4 guys are picking on each other about grammar, strategy, stupid questions to the webmaster, and trolling. They could split the screen into 4 boxes, showing them each typing away furiously in their basements and speaking aloud their disdain for their fellow PCers. Could be a hit. I know I'd watch that. Not sure who they'd cast as RagingSol.
Lol
You're welcome,
Gus

Re: Shallow fly

for starters, "If I could bet on a shallow fly to the OF as the result to every at bat with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs" makes little sense. It'd be better if it was rewritten into two sentences.

Secondly, you can't have "runners" on third

Re: Shallow fly

if you're going to criticize typos or poorly-written posts, you better make sure your own posts are intelligible.

(they're not)

Re: Re: Shallow fly

BalK! That's A balk! Yer outta here!

Re: Re: Shallow fly

Good call bennyboy, if a guy is gonna tear someone else up for less than perfect grammar, when he speaks he needs to be perfect.
A big target on your back if you're not .

Re: Re: Shallow fly

big ups to Sin City for insistence on proper English - I fully support you in your endeavors to make Pennant Chase more literate... here is something you'll appreciate, from CM Punk's Grammar Slam series on YouTube, via Nerdist: https://bit.ly/2eALmQ8

Re: Re: Shallow fly

😂your first 2 paragraphs were good
The last one was rocky, didn’t feel fluid as I read it .

Re: Shallow fly

lol i honestly can't tell if you're being ironic/silly or sincere

"It's sloppy, and frankly a fantastic example of the absolute garbage being taught in schools today, if you can't write a grammatically correct and properly spelled, coherent sentence you make yourself look like an uneducated idiot."

This is neither "grammatically correct" nor "coherent"

Re: Shallow fly

"I'd be far more impressed if you could do that."

High praise... I was going to pass, but alas:

"It's sloppy, and frankly a fantastic example of the absolute garbage being taught in schools today. [END SENTENCE]
If you can't write a grammatically-correct [HYPHEN], properly-spelled [HYPHEN], coherent sentence, [COMMA] you [INSERT "will"] make yourself look like an uneducated idiot."

Re: Re: Shallow fly

Well, at least we learned that the RBI stat has an actual function within the SIM. Although having a minute impact in the grand scheme of things, it's still a new PC tidbit I was not aware of previously. I always like those. :)

Re: Shallow fly

Regardless, your writing is far from average. Consider your own inability to form a coherent sentence before criticizing someone else.

Re: Shallow fly

I didn't call you out [punctuation] I called out the original poster

Re: Shallow fly

Bahahaha.

I'm now convinced you're just being a troll. You got me!

Re: Shallow fly

Not to throw myself into this spat, but as a neutral third party, the sentence in question most certainly needs either a comma or period.

Re: Shallow fly

It needs a period. Don't American English teachers explain the concept of a run-on sentence anymore?

Re: Shallow fly

Imagine a harmless post about shallow fly balls turn into a full argument about conventions of the English language...

Re: Shallow fly

Was he complaining, or just coming up with an inventive money making scheme?

Re: Shallow fly

Jay, that is also the only thing I picked up after reading this whole thread
