DH-less league

DH-less league

Third and final question of the day:

Is it possible to do a league without using the DH? Has anyone does so, and how does it work?

Thanks.

Re: DH-less league

DH only. I can't imagine the extra programming that would be involved to have the pitcher hit and keep it realistic... all the sacrifice bunting and substitutions and double-switching. Ugh.

Re: DH-less league

There was a league that I played in, where the commissioner created a DH based on a team's pitchers hitting stats for the season, and it was enforced that teams put that player in their lineup. But that was totally a manual enforcement by the commissioner checking box scores, no way to automatically enforce that to my knowledge.

It also didn't keep teams from pinch hitting for that DH player, which had no connection to changing a pitcher when he was pinch hit for, so to me it really was too disconnected.

The site is definitely set up to use a DH. As Ritzcards said, I would assume it is a coding thing...

From the site FAQ

Why do you only support the DH?
I appreciate baseball tradition as much as anyone. But I only have so much free time to put into this project, so for now, I chose to implement the easier option first.
