EN Rating?

EN Rating?

what purpose does the EN rating for hitters have? some guys have as low as 5 and others are at 200. I've never figured it out, does anyone else know?

Re: EN Rating?

Energy. It’s essentially how many games they have to play before getting tired. A 200 rating would mean they never sat a game that season.... someone please correct me if i’m wrong

Re: Re: EN Rating?

I was just coming to the boards to ask an EN question, so I'll just put it here. I've just joined my first custom league so will have to deal with EN for the first time. If I understand it correctly once a player passes their EN number of games, they are more likely to be injured? Maybe see a reduction in performance?
Anyway, I've got it set for the Manager to rest players, but the problem is some of my big bast are single digit EN guys. I believe if they DH for a game, they get credited with a 'rest day'. Does anyone know how that works for Pinch Hitting or Defensive Replacement? I'd hate for a big bat to get a rest day then get dinged for pinch hitting and have to rest again.
If necessary I'll manage as best I can just switching guys into the DH slot, but it would be helpful to know what happens if they go over the number or if they get subbed in. Thanks!

Re: EN Rating?

Injuries don’t relate to EN quite the way you said. It’s the number of straight games they can play before they need rest. If you don’t rest them they just play some Percentage worse. Lower EN players do get hurt more easily than higher numbers but not at the exact number of games/EN.

If they don’t start the game that counts as rest. No ding for pinch hit or other types of replacement. And as you said, DH resets the counter too.

And Auto league players don’t need rest, so all the number does is affect injuries slightly. Also rest is ignored in playoffs even in custom leagues.

Re: Re: EN Rating?

Thank you @YANKEEBB that is helpful

Re: Re: EN Rating?

thanks Gordo, that helps

Re: EN Rating?

If I remember correctly, you cannot DH a player if they need rest immediately. They must be DH'd before they get to that point, so the last option to do that would be when they need rest in 1 game.

Re: Re: EN Rating?

You are correct ncook - if you are labeled as Needing rest, it's too late to DH them, they DO have to sit a game

Re: EN Rating?

Your both correct but if you change your settings to allow cpu to rest tired players to NO. You can manually move a player who needs rest to DH and it will give him a 'day off'. I do it all the time if I miss it before hand.
