Taking away the controversial rankings of players Joe had, this is an excellent book if you are looking for interesting stories about some of the best players ever. I highly recommend.

The Baseball 100 by Joe Posnanski
I read all of the essays when they originally were posted at The Athletic. Do you know if he expanded them at all for the book? I have debated whether it was worth buying or not given I already had read them all.
I don't have a subscription to the Athletic, so I am not sure. The book is over 800 pages long, if that helps.
i've been listening to it for a week or so. I'm to the lower 30s, it's an entertaining book.
2 must read books from the 70's , Glory of their times and Only the ball was white are amazing.
I remember reading the book " Slick" about New York Yankees pitcher Whitey Ford, he talks about a Ring a Yankees fan had made for him that had a rasp on the bottom half and that he would use it to slightly cut the seams and make the ball move because of it, and that they changed the ball less frequently in those days, his stories about Mickey Mantle and Joe Pepitone were funny as well, good read, even for a Red Sox fan
