Re: PC March Madness

I'll be offering a workshop if anyone's interested. But you have to come to Canada to take it.
Lol

You REALLY don't want to know how I managed to do that - talk about dumb luck (or maybe divine intervention). Sure wasn't knowledge-based. I literally have watched ZERO NCAA games this year. Zero. And I only know the name of one player - Zion Williamson - in the whole tournament. Although I just learned another one tonight as I tuned in to the UCF game - Taco Fall. So 2 now. That's it. Sorry, guys. I'm sure my luck won't hold through the weekend. Note - I picked 7 underdogs and went 7 for 7 on them. That's just crazy. I know you all hate me right now, but I'm okay with that. Captain LOL signing off for now. See you in the morning.

Oh Canada!

Re: Re: PC March Madness

Nobody realized you did it, Gus, until you used a megaphone across the boards.

Re: PC March Madness

Lol. I know Sol. That’s what megaphones are for!!

Re: Re: PC March Madness

Ok, for those who want to know (and also those who don't want to care but just can't help but continue reading), here's the breakdown of how some Canadian know-nothing basketball illiterate managed to pick 7 out of 7 correct underdogs in the March Madness bracket challenge (and leads the Pennant Chase pack by 1 game after going 27 for 32 overall in predicting 1st round winners). Here's my reasoning for the 7 underdog picks:

12 Oregon over 5 Wisconsin - I like ducks. I'm afraid of badgers.
9 Oklahoma over 8 Ole Miss - Ole Miss sounds like a bunch of grandmas.
10 Iowa over 7 Cincinnati - Cincy has the Reds, they don't need this as much as Iowa.
9 Washington over 8 Utah State - I always felt sorry for the Washington Generals - always losing to the Globetrotters. A Washington team should win once in awhile.
11 Ohio State over 6 Iowa State - I already picked one Iowa team. Two seemed like too many. After all, my favorite baseball book, The Iowa Baseball Confederacy, made it seem like there wasn't much in Iowa except corn and small towns, so they probably don't have enough people for TWO good teams.
10 Florida over 7 Nevada - I liked UNLV when I was a kid, but this is Nevada. Different team. Whole state is filled with desert and gambling. How good can they really be at basketball?
9 UCF over 8 VCU - When I first looked at UCF I thought it said UFC, which made me think of ... (no, not Ultimate Fighting) ... KFC. I love KFC. It's finger-lickin' good. So obviously I had to choose them.

There, I hope this gave you all a good blueprint for how to win at bracketology. It's too late for this year, but maybe next year. Call me in mid-March 2020 if you need me.
Gus (Captain Lol)
