Is this posible

Can you create a league where players cannot exceed their maximum games played? I really don't like when guys who played 68 games batting .323 with 15 homers get to extrapolate those same numbers over an entire season.

I realize that playing everyday that they MIGHT have continued at that pace, but it's far more likely they were platooned and only faced say LH pitching or a later season call up facing crappy pitching.

It would really add strategy to the game, the way it is now is like Ron Popeil's oven, set it and forget it, it would have to be a custom league with like 2 a day SIMS so you have time to adjust lineups, no keepers, redraft each season, that way when a guy hits his games played max you can waive him. SIM would have to not allow a player at his max games played to play,

Re: Is this posible

As far as I understand it, that only affects their endurance. So, if endurance is turned on, then they do have to sit after X number of games. That can be a pretty big factor when you two players with similar numbers, except one plays 162 games and the other has to sit every 5 games.

Re: Re: Is this posible

I know you are correct, but you can DH a guy and he counts as rested so that's the way around that, I would like a hard cap-

Re: Is this posible

Well that’s kind of the point of this game, to sim out what could have been rather than what already happened. You’re right of course platoon guys get to use those numbers here for a full season. But it would be far less fun if we were forced to only play players the number of games they actually played. That’s maybe too realistic.

Re: Re: Is this posible

I'm sure it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes, but it would be another version of the game within the game.

Re: Is this posible

You could probably use the injury settings to manipulate that but it would be terribly manual. If a player played 120 games, at some point. You set him to be injured 42 days so that he can only at most play 120.

Scheduling would also be important. if you schedule days off, that would affect the rest days as well.
