1st no-hitter......

1st no-hitter......

....at Dodger Stadium - who threw it? Hint: it was a pitcher for the home team.

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Koufax would be the obvious choice so I guess that is probably not it.

Re: Re: 1st no-hitter......

Just remember the angle on this one. Got asked it a few years back. Didn't know it then but remember it now.

I'll let someone else play.

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Well it must have been an Angel then waiting for their stadium to be built. I cant remember who.

Re: Re: 1st no-hitter......

Jim,

The only reason I was asked this question is because the pitcher has a short history with the Phillies. Think he pitched for a handful of teams.

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Not Koufax.......

Re: Re: 1st no-hitter......

Hint #2: He dated Ann-Margret, Connie Stevens, Tina Louise and Mamie Van Doren (not at the same time ;-)

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Bo Belinski

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Oh, don't get me wrong. Its a great question. I just figured if it wasn't a Dodger and it was the home team, Angels were logical I did look it up later on Baseball reference to see who it was. Never would have remembered his name.
I have another one for who I am not sure if its still true today,
Who is the only switch hitter to win MVP and play in both the AL and the NL?

Re: Re: 1st no-hitter......

Bo Belisnsky is correct!!! The Angels played in Dodger Stadium from '62 till Anaheim Stadium opened in '66. Belinsky threw his no-no against the Orioles on May 5th. After the game he said "If I'd known I was gonna pitch a no-hitter today, I would have gotten a haircut."

Re: 1st no-hitter......

Without looking, off the top of my head, the switch hitter in question is Eddie Murray?
