Player Injuries

Player Injuries

Injuries can send a team to the bottom - I believe injuries to players both pitchers and position players should be no more than 6 games - - for pitchers that is 2 more than the recovery period - losing one pitcher for 8 games and then a 2nd pitcher two games later to another 8 game loss is a little frustrating to say the least. Granted you have stamina but one pitcher had a 100 stamina and the other a 77. Just the luck of the draw.

Re: Player Injuries

It's no different than what teams face in real life. It's part of the game unfortunately.

Re: Player Injuries

Losing an SP for 8 games means they miss one start. Now if you are in a custom league where they lose 30-40 that’s something to talk about. But yeah, that’s realistic.

Re: Re: Player Injuries

I've had 4 guys out with 25 or more days injuries in a row and still found a way into the playoffs in a custom league.

Injuries of 8 days are so minor and I don't see the reason for the complaint...just have to call someone up from the minors to fill that void for the 1 start they are missing...or pick up a Free Agent.

Re: Player Injuries

I think injuries in Pennant Chase are not harsh enough when you consider real life, guys get hurt for the season, and not just secondary players either.

Re: Player Injuries

completely agree, silverfox- have said it before... no reason for the worst aspect of real-life sports- injuries- to be incorporated into a league; all it does is inject a needless random factor that can and will result in months of hard work building and managing a team going out the window

oh, it’s “ realistic “? that happens all the time in real life, you say? news flash- it’s a GAME, no one cares... just stop already

Re: Re: Player Injuries

Join a custom league that doesn't have injuries then...simple fix; there are some out there.

Re: Player Injuries

"it's just a game" true, and so is Baseball - your analogy makes no sense

Re: Player Injuries

Injuries in Auto Leagues are pretty benign. I've never seen Auto League injuries do any damage to my season.

Custom leagues are obviously a different story, but I would think most people join custom leagues because they enjoy all the elements that make the game akin to the challenges building a team really incorporate.

There's definitely strong opinion on either side when it comes to injuries in computer games.
