Torquay Tropics - 2070 World Series Champion

The Torquay Tropics swept the Littleton Red Bulls 4 games to 0 to win the 2070 World Series. The Tropics’ starting pitchers were in control the entire series, and the Tropics did not go to the bullpen in any of the 4 games.
Chris Sale and Blake Snell battled in Game 1. Snell went 7, allowing 1 unearned run on 4 hits for the Red Bulls. Sale pitched a complete game for the Tropics, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits getting the complete game win. Dick Allen put the Red Bulls on top with a 2 run homer in the 2nd, and the Red Bulls held the lead into the 9th. The Red Bulls walked the first two batters in the 9th, and Pete Rose followed with a 2 run single, and scored on a wild pitch, giving the Tropics the victory 4-2.
David Cone pitched a compete game 5 hitter to earn the win in Game 2 for the Tropics. The Tropics offense exploded for 13 hits. Series MVP, Mike Piazza opened the scoring in the 1st with a 2 run homer. Ellis Valentine had a big game with 1 homer, 2 doubles, and 4 RBI, leading the Tropics to an 11-3 victory.
Hideo Nomo pitched a complete game, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 10 to take the win in Game 3. Melvin Mora put the Red Bulls on top with a 1st inning homer. The Tropics took the lead in the 2nd with a 2 run homer by Dale Murphy. The Red Bulls scored single runs in the 4th and 5th to take a 3-2 lead. The Tropics took the lead for good in the 6th on Mike Piazza’s 2 run homer, in route to a 6-3 victory.
Don Sutton and Ted Lilly battled in Game 4, into the 10th, both going the distance. The Red Bulls struck first on Bernie Williams’ solo homer in the 2nd. The Tropics tied the game in the 4th on Piazza’s solo homer. The game went to extra innings tied 1-1. With 1 out in the bottom of the 10th, Homer Bush hit a 2 run walk off homer to give the Topics the World Championship with the 3-1 victory.
Series MVP Mike Piazza finished the Series for the Tropics with a .375 Avg, 1.938 OPS, 1 double, 4 home runs and 7 RBI.
Dick Allen led the Red Bulls offense with a .400 Avg, 1.667 OPS, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, and 3 RBI.

Albuquerque Dukes - 2069 World Series Champions

The Albuquerque Dukes won the 2069 World Series defeating the Bay City Black Stars 4 games to 1.
The Dukes’ Jake Arrieta out battled Tom Cingrani to put the Dukes on top in Game 1. Arrietta allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, and Cingrani allowed 3 runs on 7 hits. The Black Stars took the early lead in the top of the 1st on Josh Hamilton’s RBI double. Edgar Martinez tied the game in the 2nd with a solo homer for the Dukes. With the game tied at 2, the Dukes squeaked ahead in the bottom of the 8th on Jeff Reed’s pinch hit RBI single to give the Dukes the victory 3-2.
Bob Welch pitched a perfect game in Game 2 giving the Dukes their 2nd win of the Series. The Dukes offense pounded out 14 hits in route to a 10-0 dominating victory. Rafael Furcal led the way with a RBI single, double and solo home run.
The Dukes (12) outhit the Black Stars (10) in Game 3. The Dukes Jeff Kent hit a RBI double in the 3rd and a 2 run double in the 4th giving the Dukes a 5-2 lead. The Dukes took a 7-3 lead on Brad Ausmus’ 2 run homer in the top of the 6th, and the Black Stars narrowed the lead to 7-6 in the bottom of the 6th on Ellis Burk’s 3 run homer. In the top of the 9th, Rich Aurilia and Ken Caminiti hit back to back solo homers to give the Dukes a 9-7 victory and a 3-0 Series lead.
The Black Stars got in the victory column in a fabulous Game 4 with an 11 inning victory. The Dukes scored 2 in the top of the 1st, but the Black Hawks responded to take a 5-2 lead behind Ozzie Smith’s 2nd inning RBI double and Rod Carew’s 3rd inning RBI single and 5th inning 2 run Homer. The Dukes narrowed the lead to 5-4 in the 7th and took a 6-5 lead in the 8th on George Foster’s 2 run homer. The Black Stars regained the lead in the bottom of the 8th on Richie Hebner’s 2 run homer. Kent tied the game in the 9th for the Dukes with a RBI single. Bryce Harper ended the game with a walk off 11th inning solo homer to give the Black Hawks the win 8-7.
Game 5 was a tough one for the Black Stars, who got things started scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd on consecutive doubles by Harper, Carl Everet and Smith. In the 3rd Rod Carew ‘s RBI triple put the Black Stars up 4-0. Cingrani allowed only 5 hits, and took a 5-2 lead into the 8th when the wheels came off. The Dukes opened the 8th with a walk and bloop single, and Caminiti cleared the bases with a 3 run homer to tie the game. Martinez followed with a solo homer. In the 9th, Kent hit a solo homer to give the Dukes some cushion. Harper hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 9th for the Black Stars, but could do no more, and the Dukes won the World Championship with a 7-6 victory.
Jeff Kent was the Series MVP, batting .450 with 5 doubles 1 home run, 7 RBI and a 1.600 OPS.
Bryce Harper led the Black Stars offense with a .353 Avg, 1.529 OPS, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run.

Pensacola Raging Cats - 2068 World Series Champions

The Pensacola Raging Cats won the 2068 World Series defeating the Roswell Cobras 4 games to 3.
Johnny Cueto pitched 8.2 innings for the Cobras in Game 1, holding the Raging Cats to 1 run on 4 hits. Chipper Jones gave the Cobras an early lead in the 1st with a RBI double, Mike Sweeney hit a solo homer in the 4th and Johnny Damon hit a 2 run homer in the 6th giving the Cobras the victory 5-1.
The Raging Cats evened the Series in Game 2. The game had a wild 4th inning. The Cobras scored 4 in the top half to take a 6-1 lead. Sweeney and Dave Winfield hit back to back homers and Jones hit a 2 RBI single. The Raging Cats responded with 7 runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 8-6 lead. After loading the bases, Garry Maddox and Mookie Betts hit back to back 2 run doubles. Damaso Garcia and David Ross followed with RBI singles and Rico Carty followed with a RBI double. The Cobras narrowed the lead scoring runs in the 8th and 9th, but fell short 9-8.
Game 3 was another thriller. The Raging Cats jumped out 3-0 in the top of the 1st on Hank Aaron’s 2 run homer. The Cobras followed with 2 runs in the 2nd and 3rd to take the lead 4-3. Sweeney and Winfield hit RBI singles in the 2nd and Damon hit a 2 run double in the 3rd. With the game tied at 4, the Cobras scored 3 in the 7th on Tim Raines’ 2 run homer and George Brett’s solo homer. The Raging Cats mounted a rally in the 9th, but fell short 7-6.
The Raging Cats offense exploded in Game 4 scoring 13 runs on 14 hits with 7 home runs. The Cobras held a narrow 4-3 lead going into the 6th inning. Carty opened with a 3 run homer in the 2nd for the Cats, and the Cobras tied it on Jones’ 3 run homer in the 3rd. Glenn Adams put the Cats on top 6-4 in the 6th with a 2 run homer. Betts, Aaron and Ross hit solo homers in the 7th extending the Cats lead to 10-4. Garcia homered in the 8th giving the Cats the victory 13-7.
The hitting dried up in Game 5. Cueto once again pitched a gem, shutting out the Raging Cats allowing 2 hits, striking out 7. The Raging Cats Mark Prior battled Cueto allowing 1 run on 3 hits striking out 6. Luis Castillo hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 1st which was all Cueto needed to give the Cobras the victory 1-0, and a 3-2 Series Lead.
Patrick Corbin allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while the Raging Cats’ offense scored 9 runs to even the Series. Hank Aaron started the scoring in the 1st with a RBI double; Carty and Adams hit RBI singles to give the Cats an early 3-0 lead. In the 3rd the Cats added 3 runs on Cobra errors, and Aaron hit a 6th inning 2 run homer to give the Cats the win 9-2.
Game 7 was a fitting close to a hard fought World Series. Randy Johnson and Corey Kluber battled into the 9th. Johnson allowed 3 runs on 8 hits with 8 Strike Outs. Kluber allowed 3 runs on 6 hits striking out 6. The Cats took the early lead 2-0 scoring on a solo homer by Betts in the 1st and Maddox tripled and scored in the 3rd. The Cobras narrowed the lead, 2-1, in the 3rd; Raines singled stole 2nd and 3rd, and scored on a Sac Fly. Aaron’s RBI single in the 5th put the Cats up 3-1. Raines then hit solo homers in the 6th and 8th to tie the game at 3. In the bottom of the 9th, Betts doubled and with 2 outs, Aaron hit the GWRBI with his RBI double to give the Raging Cats the 4-3 victory and the World Championship.
Rico Carty had a great Series batting .357 but the Series MVP goes to Hank Aaron with terrific Games 6 & 7 (going 6 for 10 with 3 doubles 1 Homer and 5 RBI)
Aaron finished the series batting .273 with a 1.091 OPS, 3 Home Runs, 3 Doubles and 10 RBI
Tim Raines led the Cobras on offense with a .360 Avg, 1.400 OPS, 3 Home Runs 1 double, 5 RBI and 6 SB.

Tampico Stogies - 2067 World Series Champions

The Tampico Stogies defeated the Boston Braves 4 games to 3 to win the 2067 World Series. Down 3 games to 1, the Stogies rallied to win the last 3 games of the series.
Willie McGee gave the Stogies an early lead in Game 1 with 1st and 3rd inning solo homers. Jose Ramirez narrowed the lead with a solo homer in the 6th and Damaso Garcia put the Braves on top with a 2 run homer in the 7th to give the Stogies the victory 4-3.
The Stogies evened the Series in Game 2. 2nd inning homers by Derrek Lee and Frank Thomas put the Braves up early 3-0. The Stogies tied the game in the 5th on a Vladamir Guerrero Jr 2 run homer. Jeff Kent hit solo homers in the 6th and 8th to give the Stogies the 5-4 win.
Rudy May and Pat Neshek pitched a shutout in Game 3 giving the Braves a 6-0 win. John Jasso drove in 5 of those runs with 2 home runs leading the Braves to victory.
Game 4 was an 20 hit offensive show. The teams swapped runs in the 1st. The Braves scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 2nd with 2 run homers by Willie Stargell and Derrek Lee. The Stogies responded in the top of the 3rd with 5 runs behind Jeff Kent’s bases clearing 3 run triple. Scoring single runs in the 6th, 7th and 9th, the Stogies were up 9-8 going into the bottom of the 9th where John Jaso hit a 2 run walk off homer giving the Braves a 3-1 Series lead with the 10-9 victory.
The Stogies pitchers brought the Series even to 3-3 with shutdown performances in Games 5 and 6. Zack Greinke pitched a complete game allowing 2 runs on 6 hits in Game 5. Sid Fernandez pitched 8 shutout innings allowing 2 hits, striking out 6 to get the win in Game 6. In Game 5 with the score tied at 2, Jorge Posada put the Stogies ahead with a 2 run homer, Paul Konerko Tripled and Singled in runs in the 6th and 8th giving the Stogies the Game 5 win 7-2. In Game 6 Miguel Tejada 2nd inning 2 run double was all the runs the Stogies needed to even the Series with a 3-1 victory.
Game 7 was a gem. The Braves scored 3 in the 1st on Derrek Lee’s 3 run homer. After loading the bases in the 3rd, the Braves walked in 2 runs allowing the Stogies to narrow the lead 3-2. Jaso put the Braves up 4-2 with a solo homer in the top of the 7th. The Stogies responded in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 4 on a Skip Schumaker 2 run homer. Frank Thomas put the Braves back on top with a solo homer in the 8th and a RBI in the top of the 9th giving the Braves a 6-4 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Willie McGee then tied the game with a 1 out 2 run homer. With 2 outs, Kent walked and Paul Konerko followed with a walk of 2 run homer. Stogies win the Championship with the 8-6 victory.
Paul Konerko takes the Series MVP batting .391 with a 1.739 OPS, 3 doubles, 1 Triple, 2 Home Runs and 7 RBI.
John Jaso led the Braves on offense batting .269 with a 1.577 OPS, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs and 8 RBI.

Bronx Bulldogs - 2066 World Series Champions

The Bronx Bulldogs beat the Albuquerque Dukes 4 games to 2 to win the 2066 World Series.
The Bulldogs took control of the Series winning the first 3 games. Carl Yastrzemski started hot, putting the Bulldogs ahead in Game 1 with a 1st inning homer. The Dukes took the lead 5-3 in the 3rd and 4th on Home Runs by Rafael Furcal, Rico Carty and Bip Roberts. The Bulldogs responded with 5 runs in the 5th on RBI doubles by Kevin Millar and Larry Walker, with Yaz adding a 3 run homer in the 9th giving the Bulldogs an 11-5 victory.
Series MVP Tom Gordon held the Dukes scoreless in Game 2, allowing only 2 hits. Yaz had a RBI double in the 3rd and a 2 run homer in the 7th giving the Bulldogs a 6-0 victory.
The Bulldogs offense kept rolling in Game 3, with 10 hits. Champ Summers started things off with a 2 run homer in the 1st and scoring each of the first 4 innings taking a 5-0 lead into the 5th. Javy Lopez and Aaron Judge hit homers in the 6th to narrow the lead, but the Bulldog Bullpen closed it down for a 5-3 victory and a 3-0 Series lead for the Bulldogs.
Furcal opened Game 4 with a leadoff homer for the Dukes, but the Bulldogs scored 3 behind Larry Walker’s 2 run homer in the 5th to take the lead 4-2. The Dukes pulled ahead for good in the 8th on Judge’s 2 run homer, avoiding the sweep with a 6-4 victory.
The Dukes’ offense exploded in Game 5, scoring 10 runs on 11 hits in Game 5. The Dukes took a 7-0 lead scoring on solo homers by Lopez and Dave Nilsson in the 2nd and a 3 run homer by John Kruk in the 3rd . Kurk added a 2 run homer in the 5th building a 10-1 lead. The Bulldogs tried to mount a comeback but fell short 10-6.
Tom Gordon and Johan Santana battled hard in Game 6. Santana pitched a complete game, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, Gordon pitched 6, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The Dukes took a 1-0 lead in the first on Ken Caminiti’s RBI triple. The Bulldogs tied the game in the 6th on Jonathan Villar’s solo homer. The Bulldogs broke the tie in the top of the 8th on Robinson Cano’s 2 run homer, taking a 3-1 lead. The Dukes responded in the bottom of the 8th with a RBI by Lopez. Scott Barlow closed the door in the 9th to get the Save, giving the Bulldogs the World Championship with a 3-2 victory.
Series MVP Tom Gordon finished with 1 win, a 0.80 ERA, .714 WHIP and 6.42 K/9
Jonathan Villar led the Bulldogs on offense batting .458 with a 1.500 OPS, 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI and 2 SB.
John Kruk led the Dukes on offense batting .316 with a 1.474 OPS, 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI.

Boston Braves - 2065 World Series Champions

The Boston Braves defeated the Roswell Cobras 4 games to 2 with dominant pitching to win the 2065 World Series.
Wade Miley brought the Braves a Gave 1 victory with a complete game 4 hit shutout of the Cobras. Al Downing kept the Cobras even through six innings holding the Braves to 1 hit. In the bottom of the 7th Brady Anderson’s 2 out RBI triple broke the scoreless tie. Pat Mears added an 8th inning solo home run giving the Braves the 2-0 victory.
Solid pitching continued in Game 2. Randy Johnson got the win for the Cobras allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Carl Everett started things off in the 2nd with a solo homer and Glenn Adams hit a 2 run homer in the 4th, evening the Series. Cobras 4, Braves 3.
The Braves jumped ahead early in Game 3 and never looked back. Back to back RBI doubles by David Ross and Willie Stargell put the Braves up 3-0 in the 1st. The Cobras battled back narrowing the Braves lead to 4-3. Ross hit another 2 RBI double in the 7th to give the Braves the win 7-4.
The Cobras went through their staff, sending 8 pitchers to the mound in Game 4. The Cobras walked the Bases loaded in the 1st and then walked in the run. Juan Uribe put the Braves up 2-0 with a solo homer in the 2nd. The Cobras responded in the bottom of the 2nd behind a 2 run double by Carlos Correa, taking the lead 4-2; then held on to take the win 5-3 evening the Series at 2 games each.
Wade Miley took the mound for the Braves again in Game 5, and delivered another complete game victory, holding the Cobras to 3 runs on 9 hits. With the score tied at 1, the Braves broke the game open in the top of the 4th scoring 5 runs on home runs by Alex Bregman, Brady Anderson and Pat Mears. The 7-3 victory put the Braves one game from the championship.
Gerrit Cole continued the Braves stellar pitching in Game 6, holding the Braves scoreless through 8 allowing 4 hits and striking out 10. Bregman opened the scoring with a RBI single in the 3rd, and Jim Dwyer extended the lead with a 2 run homer in the 5th. The Braves took the win 5-0 bringing the Championship to Boston.
Wade Miley won the Series MVP with 2 complete game wins, a 1.50 ERA, 0.889 WHIP and 4.0 K/9.
Alex Bregman led the Braves on offense with a .333 Avg, 1.556 OPS, 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 3 RBI
Johnny Damon led the Cobras offense with a .389 Avg, 1.278 OPS, 2 doubles and 1 HR.
