Franchise League

Welcome to the franchise league!

You pick the franchise. You pick the year you start. Only one person can own a particular franchise: for example, if Bobby has the A's, no one else can have the A's. NO YANKEES!

As virtually every team has had a good season or two, and you pick your starting year, it should be less critical who picks which team when; so it is first come, first served. One team must be an original team, and the other must be an expansion team. Put your chosen team(s) in the chat box.

You pick the year you start. You will receive that season, and the prior season. You can only have one version of a player -- i.e. while the Giants and the A's could each have Vida Blue, each of these franchises can only have one Vida Blue at a time. You get imports every year. You cannot stat change, or trade players. Classic progression. No contracts. In the Ivy League, when you get to the present season (which right now is 2023), your next import season is 1901. In the Modern Day League, after 2023, you revert to your expansion team's first season.

Other rules will be pretty standard.

I forgot, it sounds like game was still tied, so the DR wouldn't have been in effect anyway since it's not a "protect the lead" situation.

This is kind of a hard one... if you're in a tie game late, do you want the offensive PH to stay in if he can play the position or not? You could argue either side of it. I could understand why at SS you may want the defensive player, but it can get gray depending on how big the difference is between the players. If you have some slugging pinch hitter who can play the pos as a secondary you may want that hitter's bat in extra innings.
