“The Level Playing Field”

The Leveler - Basic Rules

League Basics:

The goal of the league is to see who can build the best team out of the Modern History "best of" player pool (1970-2022). To test that, each GM will build his own team from players in Free Agency and then face off against each other. There will be multiple copies of each player in the pool. How many copies is determined by how many GM's join the league. If we get 10 GM's, each player will have 9 duplicates. You can put anyone you want on your team, as long as you only have unique players (no duplicates on your team). The catch...

NO SLUMPBUSTER
NO FIRE
NO INJURIES
NO REST NEEDED

Build your team. Set your park dimensions. Play several series against each GM. Declare a winner. Repeat. Run the exact same team next season, make some adjustments, or change your scheme. Whatever you want.

After I get a few GMs signed up, we can all discuss the rules. Make changes or additions. Figure out if a postseason or tournament will happen.

Lineup and Rotation:

You will need:
1) 1 of each player position and a DH (9 players)
2) 4 SPs (4 man rotation) and 5 RP's (9 players)

I forgot, it sounds like game was still tied, so the DR wouldn't have been in effect anyway since it's not a "protect the lead" situation.

This is kind of a hard one... if you're in a tie game late, do you want the offensive PH to stay in if he can play the position or not? You could argue either side of it. I could understand why at SS you may want the defensive player, but it can get gray depending on how big the difference is between the players. If you have some slugging pinch hitter who can play the pos as a secondary you may want that hitter's bat in extra innings.
